mPony's package finally got shipped on Wednesday.

Unfortunately it turns out the dog ate my GQ11, so I asked my daughter to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. She sent you her old used Snuggie (size extra small, so I hope you're a tiny man).

Just kidding, of course! Snuggie doesn't come in XS size! She had to take it in using her Hello Kitty sewing machine. Did a pretty good job for an amateur, but the thread is pink. You'll get used to it.

Package received!  Much to my surprise it isn't an extra small pink Snuggie after all.  Also, the Post-It note trick worked like a charm!  Many thanks :)

I'd also like the GQ#11 expansion if there's anybody else who has one available.

If there's nobody offering the GQ expansion then I'll happily claim the Kathedralen in Deutschland from Rich_The_Fish, who is awesome for offering it  :)

I have something very very rare to offer: It seems that I have a copy of the First Edition rules, in French language (en Francais) which shows the OLD instructions for scoring farms.  I know it's not useful to most people but I figure someone on here might enjoy having it.

I bought it on release day and was very impressed.  Great little game, well worth the purchase.

I'd argue that if you traded an item, you would be making  net-profit because you received goods for another service.

I think it could be a net-loss if the goods traded were worth more than the good received.  As such it could fall under "barter" as opposed to "sale for profit".

Still I understand this website not wanting to risk upsetting HiG and the other publishers if people started to abuse the spirit of barter.

"Witch and Mage with German rules but without the box" sounds just like what I need.  I'm missing Mage&Witch(5) and Flying Machines (1) mini expansions.   Please let me know if it's still up for grabs.

Official Rules / Shepherd's field gets completed by another player
« on: October 16, 2016, 12:41:40 PM »
On Reddit the following photo was posted: http://imgur.com/90ty52N

It seems the field containing the grey shepherd was fully enclosed by a different player. No more tiles can extend that field.  Of course if the pasture was enclosed by the grey player they would retrieve their shepherd and score for their sheep.

But what happens to the grey shepherd when someone else encloses that pasture?  Is it stuck there until the end of the game? Does it return to the grey player scoring no points? Does it return to the grey player scoring points for the sheep?

Oh how I wish shipping from Europe wasn't so expensive.  It's very kind of you folks to be helping me.   :yellow-meeple:

I am keeping an eye on BGG (as usual).

If anyone from North America has either of these, please PM me or post on here.   Many thanks!

EDIT: wow, it seems that shipping a medium-size flat-rate box from the U.S. costs 46 USD (42 €)!  Shipping from Europe may actually be cheaper!  This is blowing my fragile little mind.  Maybe I will re-examine Cundco.

RE-EDIT:  I will keep this thread open until I throw the money down for these.  If you have these please feel free to contact me.

I am totaly okay with the new art style, though of course I would have changed it a little if I was involved in the design process.

Other users have said they thought the original tile style was looking "dated".  I can totally see where they are coming from.  The new tiles are more colourful.  (There sure is a lot more blue turrets, maybe a bit too much).  Also in the original version there were some tiles that confused new players by not lining up the walls correctly.

The new edition was made to appeal to new players. We still have plenty of original edition games out there to play.

I have to admit I was/am confused by all of it.  Who knows what's going on.  There are still ZERO bids as of this moment with three hours to go.

EDIT: auction ended with no bids.

I just realized the main page has an eBay items listing - how does one add to that listing?  Perhaps I should have done that rather than just post in this forum?

Looks like someone (not me) got hold of 15 boxes of Count, Cult and King and are auctioning everything without boxes  :-\  I have no idea who would want to do this but I figured someone might want to jump in and take a look:

very good clarification of language, there.  Well done.

I've been playing the game for a few years now but only very recently found this forum. At first I thought "Why are they compiling this rulebook? Aren't the rules specified?"  Now I better understand your motivations :)  I wish I'd found this forum years ago!

I have a (very picky) observation:

page 12, "At least one side of the new tile (with a red border in the examples below) must touch one or more tiles already in play.7 Corner-to-corner placement is not permitted."

page 13: note #8: "Cloisters can be placed directly next to each other, or corner to corner. It is not necessary for there to be eight other (non-cloister) tiles neighbouring a cloister. A cloister stands in the middle of a field segment and other segments can be placed next to it. In contrast to roads, cities, and fields, it is not possible to connect to a cloister."

I find note 8 to be confusing in its wording; it seems overly specific to get across the point of "It does not matter which tiles are neighbouring a cloister" or "the presence of one cloister does not forbid you from placing another cloister near it."  Was this wording added in response to specific questions?

Lastly, as a Canadian I find the spelling of "neighbouring" to be precisely correct.

Official Rules / Re: Hills and Sheep tile design question
« on: December 05, 2015, 09:23:26 PM »
You can easily get into another player's city: place the tile at the city (one of the all city edges) and place a follower on the other half of the city. Later make a junction between the two halves with any city tile.

This is actually pretty brilliant, and I didn't think of that use of that tile.  I like it better already!

However, this brings me back to my original question in a different way:  Why asymmetrical?   The tile doesn't need to be asymmetrical to achieve this "join in" effect in play.   If the tiles were symmetrical you could place two of them with the field points touching and still have 2 separate cities.   That might be the only way to deny another player from joining in to your city, now that I think of it.

Any more thoughts?
