Finally, by owning both versions of the Halflings expansion (I received the Spielbox edition as a Christmas gift from my wife) I could build a proper Carc-mas tree.

I ordered a copy of Dr. Knizia's Kingdoms at a deep discount, https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/119/kingdoms

This is a very good abstract game with updated components in its third FFG edition. I'm hoping mini castles in Kingdoms could see double purpose in pimping Carcassonne

Decar, I saw that and a very fair assessment. Though Isle of Skye is less similar to Carc, I see that as a superior game to Cacao!

Happy New Year everyone! In the spirit of "New Year, New You", I have changed my forum profile picture

The first big thing on my calendar for the new year is a game of Mega Carcassonne next weekend, which will feature all of the tiles and expansions. I expect it will take about 10 hours!

I wish lots of fun Carcassonne games in 2017, too. Maybe we'll see some new official expansions as well (though probably only for the new edition), and I wouldn't exclude the opportunity that we may even get to know our 2016 advent calendar expansions soon.
