Official Rules / Hill tile powers
« on: August 22, 2017, 03:19:11 PM »
Sorry, this will have been asked already but I can't find it.

Does the power of the hill in the field on the right effect the field on the left in regards to farming, if the field on the left side of the road is never joined to the field on the right-hand side?

Hi,

I hope someone out there can help me.

Does anyone have the Fan modified RIVER tile with the spring, the house and the 3 roads, already sized and ready to be printed?

If the artist/creator is out there, what's your name? I really like what you've done to the original tile. The 3 roads are a great addition, I know it's gonna make a couple of my players happy, I can't wait to play with it.

General / Castles in Germany End Game Farming Score?
« on: June 02, 2016, 06:00:07 PM »
Hi,

Quick question...

In regards to German Castles The CarC 7.4 states...

Quote
There is no mention in the rules regarding effects of the castles on scoring of farms. Thus, it
seems that the Castles in Germany do not produce points for farms in the same way that castles from
Bridges, Castles, & Bazaars do, but this would have to be confirmed. (4/2015)

Could anyone let me know if this has been confirmed?

Thanks in advance!

Official Rules / Wagons
« on: August 10, 2014, 05:15:58 AM »
Hi,

Can someone help me please?

Can a wagon move onto a cloister if the road the wagon is currently on passes over or through the cloister tile even if there is no road leading directly up to the cloister?

(I've tried to include a photo but due to size limitations I can't attached it)

General / Carcassonne Lingo

I would love to know some of your homegrown Carcassonne terminology.

So far I've heard,

CarcassONne!- Used when someone tries to shanghai a city, road, or farmlands. "Oh, you're trying to steal my city, Well it's CarcassONne!

To be in the CarcaZone!- When someone makes a great placement "Oh my God, she's is the CarcaZone!"

Carcking- "I can't come out tonight, I'm Carcking!"

To Carck- "I can't come out tonight, I'm going to Carck!"

Carcked- "I couldn't come out last night, I Carcked!"

To be Carcked out! "I can't play another game, I'm seriously Cracked Out!"

To be Carcassowned! "Green scores 66, Black scores 205. Green you've been Carcassowned!"

What else have you heard? Tell me some of the crazy Carcassonne expressions you and your group use!

Other Games / Munchkin
« on: May 17, 2014, 05:04:15 PM »
Munchkin can be a great card game to play with friends. The system is simple to master and so easy to play. You start as a level 1 human and with the aid of cards you collect weapons, magical items, new races and levels whilst travelling through a dungeon battling its denizens. The objective of the game is to be the first to reach level 10.

Are there any Munchkin players out there? Do you have a favourite Race, Weapon or Card? Do you have any recommendations for expansions?

Other Games / Zombies!!!
« on: May 17, 2014, 01:28:39 PM »
I own the game Zombies and have played a good couple of times over the last couple of years but have never bought any of the expansions... The stand alone game can be fun with a group of friends especially when everyone gets into the swing of things but I've started thinking about the possibility of buying one of the many expansions, just to shake things up a wee bit!

Do you own Zombies and any of the expansions? Can you recommend an expansion? Have you played Humans? Or can you recommend a similar game?

Let me know what you think?

General / A Bridge Too Far?
« on: May 16, 2014, 05:07:33 PM »
We have a number of expansions and although we always play with all of the tiles, we don't always play with all of the rules. I'm sure this is the same for a lot of Carcassonnians. But one of the expansions we always play with, whether it's 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 players is the Bridges. Of course the Bridges make the game a little easier which is all right because in my opinion they also add a little fun and extra thought dimension!
We also play all the rules as they are in the official rulebook except when it comes to laying bridges. Which is funny because so far all other suggested rule adaptations have been met with ''NOPE!"

Our House Rules for Bridges are simple: You can lay as many Bridges as you want (Providing you have them).
Bridges cannot be traded with or passed to another player.

So sometimes if we're only 2 players we'll play with six bridges each and with the house rule it means it's possible to lay all 6 bridges on one tile placement turn. The possibilities are endless! It's has also become an extra mission to try and lay as many bridges as possible in one placement or laying at one time a Bridge on the tiles North, East, South, West of the tile being played. It's all just good fun!

In all honesty it doesn't really change the game that much because most Bridges are still played individually but every once and a while someone will make a move using more than one Bridge that really shakes things up! There is also something very satisfying about bridging one of your own roads over loads of structures and connecting it and your farmlands to places previously thought unreachable...

Do any of you enjoy playing with Bridges or do you think it makes the game too easy?

General / Carcassonne for more than 6 players?
« on: May 16, 2014, 05:05:53 AM »
There are always/often/not often but sometimes  :-\  more than 6 people who want to come to our house for games night, which is fine with some of the other games we play but the night doesn't feel quite right unless we crack out CARCASSONNE so I was wondering what your experiences have been when playing Carcassonne with more than 6 people?

Does the dynamic of the game drastically change when adding more players?

What's the most players you've ever played with and how did it play?

I'll be grateful for any opinions and advice!

General / Meeples for Mega Carcassonne
« on: May 08, 2014, 02:20:10 AM »
My friends and I have started to play Mega Carcassonne having put a couple of standard sets together as well as all the expanions packs.

How many Meeples would you recommend we play with?  I'm finding that when we play with the standard amount plus the Large meeple that the dynamic of the game has shifted quite a lot and no one really plays farmers until late in the game. Also without even play testing it I know that doubling the amount of Meeples just because we have doubled the number of land tiles wouldn't be right!

Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated!
