2 player 110 tiles game (Without the base game tiles)
« on: December 13, 2014, 04:31:50 AM »
For quite a while i was really wondering how i could play a game of carcassonne without using the tiles of the basegame.

Today finally my little bro got time.
My set-up.

1 x RiverI
2 x I & C
2 x T & B
1 x A & M tiles (including abbey)
2 x Halflings (4 halflings a player)
orange meeples, (how can a dutchman play without orange)
white meeples
3 bridges a player

we included the builder, the pig and the big follower.

So why did i used this set-up.
I really want to know if you have enough good connections if your not playing with the base game tiles. Will there be a lot of gaps? or will it not?
To reduce the amount of gaps. we included the Abbey, Halflings and bridges.

The bridges didnt really work because there arent much F..F.. tiles, but the halflings really became usefull both during and after the game (as a last option)

This game was actually pretty fun, you really have to think forward: What kind of halflings could he have? What gap do i create if i put my tile on this place..

My brother did pretty good using the halflings 2 times in his advantage. 1 time to block my possibility to finish my city and 1 time to gain advantage over 1 city.

Like i said.. it does work and you really have to think forward.

Cheers!

P.s. (im white and I won :$, i had a better farm)

Interesting game here. Me and my wife had considered doing a similar game, but the base game comes with so many roads and essential pieces that the game wouldn't be as easy to win. A good test of wits though!
If only I had another Halfling.....

Just try it  :D, its not a long game, but it is possible, and it all does fit quite easily!
