Here comes the x-score list - CarcC-A-Dragons 29 01 2016:

This x-score list has not the result of the game jma03 against aenima, because I don't know the score. I only know that jma03 has won the game.

Wow - what a game - a real game of 2 halves!

The first half Hounk and I were neck and neck, with literally 2 or 3 points between us.  Every substantial city was shared and even the roads were shared.  Hounk began his farm campaign and I reacted to his placements trying but not succeeding to match his farmers.  He was in control of the farm and I was too committed elsewhere to really contest his control until.....

Step in the dragon from stage left.  The dragon was actually on the board from about the 3rd tile but it didnt do much damage until half way through.  At this point I managed to devour one of hounks farmers and one of his Knights in the big city in one foul swoop.  This left the big city in my control with one RFCR tile to complete and no way for Hounk to change that unless he could get the dragon to gobble me up.  I avoided being dragon food and completed a large city t take a substantial lead.

Then to focus on the farm - hounk still had control but I had managed to create 2 smaller farms which could be connected to the main farm by a single cloister with road.  When I got this cloister it left me with a small decision to make.  My 2 farms added up to 18 points, Hounks farm added up to 18 points as well.  If i joined the farms, we would have 3 farmers each and a total of 24 points but with the risk that he could add one farmer and take the lot.  The thing that swung it for me was that by joining the farms I got a completed straight in and out cloister too so an extra 9 points.

This did prompt further attempts by hounk to get another farmer or 2 but to no avail and with the addition of another one of my farmers and me eating one of Hounks, unfortunately he basically had no chance for a come back.

Thankyou Hounk for a great game.  I think I was quite lucky with the tiles in the second half and you put up a good fight.

Aenima 154-Jacobo 159
Very even game from start to finish.
It started well with the domain of the farms , but aenima he managed very well to take away half of the farms ( 2-1).

Until 6 last tile was all for decided, each had 2 meeples and this decided the small margin of the game.
the last tile Aenima was not good as it was a volcano tile.

It was a slow game because there were times when I thought more time and possibly the account is not in good taste to my opponent.
so I apologize to aenima for it.

I wonder if  could see the option for future competitions have time player control similar to that used in chess to be in the same conditions.

what you think about this guys?

When you lose, do not look at what you lost, but what's left to win ..

I won my match against Ny1050220.
It was a great game, maybe I have been helped more by luck, the battle was for the fields was lively.

His might upholds the weak.
His word speaks only truth.

I did it! I finished group stage...

 :yellow-meeple: Merlin_89 140-115 Aenima  :black1-meeple:

Very chaotic game for me. Lots depended on it and I was nervous. Aenima played good so I had to work hard and scramble a lot to win it. He started good, he pushed me from my first city with princess, and suddenly he was in possesion of 2 major cities. I went for farm, bo so did he, and with help of dragon he went from tie 2-2 to lead 2-0. I went for cloister strategy, but I managed to complete only one, but other 3 played counterbalance to my deficits in other areas. I was saved by my blocking! I limited aenima's chances to score bigger in cities.

Congratulations Merlin_89 on finishing the group so quickly. And well done on your record too: 8 wins from 8 games! I look forward to seeing how it goes for you in the second stage of the competition against the winners of the other two groups. Good luck! :) :(y)
