Man those little Carcassonne Demo editions are fun looking. I like the expandable tuckbox/rules sheet. No scoreboard, I'm guessing?

Received the German Castles today. Cheers Dan! :gray-meeple:

This afternoon I also bought the Dutch version of Gold Rush (no postman involved :))), it actually comes with the mini-expansion the sheriff!

The publisher of the Dutch versions of Carcassonne (999 Games) celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, as of last weekend everyone who buys one of their games receives a gift box with a couple of nice small games and demo games — including the Carc v2.0 demo! Very nice surprise.

Finally, just because I was taking some pictures anyway, I thought of combining some tiles from the original Carcassonne (Hills & Sheep to be exact) and those from Gold Rush. There's a slight difference in the colour of the fields (nothing we haven't seen before) but it actually seems to work! Of course, it doesn't make a lot of sense to combine a medieval setting with trains and western villages... It would also be very easy to block cities/roads/mountains/railroads/a lot of other things. But it is possible :))

First one to say:  it matches better than carcassonne / carcassonne 2.0

Great post :)

Haha, that's funny, I'm also Dutch and received Gold Rush today as well (but English version). We just played our first game. The mining is quite interesting.

Would it be at all possible for you to type out the Dutch Sheriff rules or a photo of that section from the rules? It would be greatly appreciated.

And finally, what goodies are in the surprise box? I heard there's also a catan expansion?

I want the Qwirkle and Catan expansions! Too bad it doesn't make any sense for me to buy anything from 999 Games.

The ghost blitz extra cards and the carcassonne demo would be nice.

Came home to find the Vanguard Metal Meeples that I backed from the recent Indiegogo crowdfunder.

Very happy with the purchase. I chose an entry level pledge for the mixed set ($15 USD), with the Stretch goal award of the Key Chain. The quality looks to be very good with a decent amount of weight to them. The colours and sheen are nice and they seem somewhat appropriate for knights! I was very tempted to get the set of 8 ($20 ea) but thought I couldn't get away with just one set as my wife is my main gaming partner.

There was another stretch goal that wasn't meet for little flag poles. Each meeple has a hole in each arm for an accessory. I knew in advance that I had some miniature spears from my table top minis that I use for De Bellis Antiques.

Now I just need to come up with a use for these in the game. I would like each player to get one metal meeple with the Spear (or can fairly easily modded to a flag bearer). I'll give that some thought but if anyone would care to help with ideas, I would be very grateful  :yellow-meeple:

I will start another forum thread to discuss the possibilities, so this post doesn't go on too long.
Franks

Wanna play Carc? Can we add just one more expansion?

Nice meeples Franks! I like the finish of the second one on the left in the bottom picture.

As requested by Kettle, the Dutch rules for the Carc v2.0 demo.
