After few days on this forum I have an impression that members of this forum are in quite close contact with Carcassonne publishers. What is current Z-man and/or HiG approach to tile references? I've been searching for them high and low and all of the links are down at this moment. Except this one:
http://www.carcassonne-forum.de/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=242&sid=f21b6380c2679c1fa860c3c3ea879553
and there is very firm statement at the bottom:
Diese Listen sind mit Genehmigung vom Hans-im-Glück-Verlag online gestellt und dürfen nicht für kommerzielle Zwecke verwendet werden!!!
So can I post my own tile reference online using tile pictures? Naturally for no commercial usage.

It could depend on the quality and resolution of the images used. Otherwise it could be used as a reference for someone to print their own copies of commercial tiles.
I believe HiG once had a tile reference pdf and a member of CarcF made one too, it may save you some time!
Generally, I'd be happy to see one similar to the CAR, but up to date. Sorted by expansion and by topography.
Good luck!

I was thinking about water marking them with something like "COPY" diagonally.
I hope to make one digital tile reference as a test case for the software project that I am doing with my friend. This would work like Excel Pivot table. Anyway, some production version is still few months from now.

Sounds a cool project. If it's watermarked it maybe no problem about copyright. :o

I made a tile reference for Cf2 in a form that I find most usefull. Please let me know what you think about such arrangement of tiles.

Seems like a good start.
I did this for the base a a while ago:

I am going to take a break at this point. It is not very time consuming. One evening per set is not overwhelming at all. Just as a software developer I always try a more general approach.
I'll get back to you when our project reaches beta tests and is feeded with some Carcassonne data.

Because of The Markets of Leipzig mini-expansion, something that tells people how many tiles with the small illustrations there is.
