Traders & Builders League: Group B
(http://www.dan.tehill.net/TandBLeague_GroupB.jpg)
Please use this thread (or Private Messages) to arrange matches between players and to post scores/ match reports afterwards.
Good luck everyone!
-
Greetings to everyone in group B, I look forward to playing with all of you!
As seen in the list, I'm from Belgium GMT+1, but it looks like most of our timezones are around that.
To get things started: I got a day off this friday (16th) and sunday (18th),so I can get some games done then :)
Feel free to PM and/or post here!
PS: I can finally test if I can host then, should be OK though, got the ports opened after alot of tinkering.
-
Greetings to everybody from me, too. Let's do a game on friday then, Yall, since I have a day off there as well, and others might rather take the opportunity to match you on weekend. What time would you prefer? Great, if you can host the game, otherwise we will sure need an admin.
I have (uncommonly) quite few work to do, right now. Today and tomorrow just two brief jobs in the evening. So I will not to be able to take part in a game between 6 p.m. and half past 10 p.m. (between 7 p.m. and half past 11 for our Latvian friends) on either of this days, but any other time I would like to get a few other games running. :)
-
As administrator of Group B, I can help with hosting your games (and play mine as well).
I am free mostly at workday evenings, after 21:00 (GMT+2) till almost midnight, and also at weekends. If I am not able to play, I am always able to host a requested game (18:00-24:00 GMT+2 on workdays). If this is the case, feel free to write me a PM for connection details.
-
Hi everyboby! I could play tomorrow and friday after 21:00 and also Saturday during the day. Let me know!
Cheers,
Jéré
-
Hello, Group B members!
As for me, this week only Saturday is suitable. Jéré, how about a game Saturday afternoon?
-
Hi Leven!
Is Sat 12:00 ok? Can you host? If not, MrNumber?
-
12:00 is OK.
I'm currently trying to set up my router with port forwarding, and I asked someone to attempt the connection, but no success so far. :(
-
The first game of the league has been played! It was a match between me and Hounk (and I got to host, which worked, so yay!)
In the end I won with a score 222 vs 127, but it was a pretty tight match until a few good tiles were drawn for me.
Little summary of the game:
The game started pretty slow, not much happened except that I got my builder stuck on a long road which needed a specific FFRR tile. This tile also blocked my monk for a long time. Hounk was able to score a few quick barrels, and after a good 20 to 30 tiles we started building the huge city on the right of the board. The focus on getting that city was a big thing for the rest of the game, at one time I was sure I was gonna lose it! We both had 3 meeples in it (or well, possible meeples in it, the only tile that was missing was the CCCC tile topright). When I drew the CCCC tile with the red ribbon on top, I was able to lock out Hounk's 3th meeple in the little 4pt city to the right of it, scoring me big points, and at this point in the game those 40 or so points gave me a huge jump.
The battle for the farm was also ongoing all the while, and I managed near the end to tie him in farmers, both scoring the same.
In the end I had a really good time playing, especially since this is my first time doing any sort of competition with it!
Screenshot of the game: (sorry, couldn't get it small enough to attach it to the post)

Hi Leven!
Is Sat 12:00 ok? Can you host? If not, MrNumbers?
No problem! Just inform me about exact time, including time zone :)
-
Great game by Yall. I made a capital mistake with my trader, I knew right away after I placed it, but over all had an enjoyable and thrilling game all the same. Yall really pushed me to the limit with the big city. Sure it was luck, that he draw the winning CCCC, but it would have been luck either way.
On the farm, Yall also had been in the lead for most of the time. I was on the field first, but after he sneaked in and blocked my first attempt to regain it with the 3-point farmer next to the "wine city", he soon took the lead with the farmer over the road cloister. In the end, I tried to make the swing with a quick attack of two more farmers, but again he found a way back to even this out.
I myself at least managed to even Yall out on the trade goods. After the big city, it seemed certain, that he got them 30:0, but the tiny city of him on the bottom of the map gave me just the two tokens I needed to shift it to 20:20, so I finished that for 8 points for him.
-
Sounds like a great game guys. Thanks for getting the competition off to such an exciting start! :(y)
-
Game is afoot!
I can most of my weekday evenings after 18:10 - 02:am. Cannot host as new computer is not set up with an open port.
Just message me a day I'll make sure I am there. I am at +1 Stockholm (and Belgium as well) time.
There is also the irc chat: http://sydby.com/carcassonne/irc/ (http://sydby.com/carcassonne/irc/)
And Ventrilo voice group chat: http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=1313 (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=1313)

You mean, you are at +1 to Stockholm time? I assume not. ;) According to danisthirty's table all of the competitors of this group are set in Central European Time (CET or GMT+1), with the exception of MrNumber and zone2, who are in Eastern European Time (EET or GMT+2).

This is what I meant. ;)

I am now on from 6pm to 2am. I will be on irc chat and if I can, on Ventrilo as well. Checking both every few mins as I work. Can't host but ready to play a game for this league B. :(y)

Just had a very close game with Jéré. I called it "one barrel close" :)
MrNumbers vs. Jere - 184:197.

Jéré won his second game this evening and is now playing his third. So I am posting the screen shot.
I got always too few meeples in compare to Jéré, so I was never able to win the farm battle against him. The second big factor had been the trade goods. My only chance to attain some would have been to finish his unfinished with four points, when it was still worth only 3. I thought, this would not be worth it, because I was without any chance of getting enough grain and with only a minor one to get a second barrel. Turned out to be the right decision, since I could not finish the city below next to the 9 point farmer by Jéré.
-
Finally I have successfully calibrated my firewall, so I can be a host at my Saturday afternoon league matches.
First against Jéré at 12:00, and right after that against Yellow. (Yellow, you will be with :meeple:, right? :) )
I'm looking forward to playing my first competition matches.
-
Played 2 games this evening, had great fun in both of 'em!
Yall vs Jéré: 151-190

PS: If anyone needs hosting service and MrNumbers isn't online, feel free to PM me, I can usually turn on my PC at any time of the day.
-
Actually, if it is not to late for Yellow now, it would be great, if you could host the two of us!
-
Yeah I can host, you both still got the IP?
-
Yellow vs Hounk. I had a sure win then all of a sudden our farm was shared. O_o
-
I was veeery lucky, drawing a corner road to connect my farmer next to the cloister with three roads to the main farm. It was my one but last tile.
-
Jéré won his second game this evening and is now playing his third.
There's no prize for finishing games quickly this time Jéré :)
-
The scores on the doors (so far):
Jere: +9 league points, +103 total score differential (3 played) 8)
Yall: +6 league points, +98 total score differential (3 played) :)
Hounk: +3 league points, -122 total score differential (3 played) :P
MrNumbers: 0 league points, -13 total score differential (1 played) :-[
Yellow: 0 league points, -66 total score differential (2 played) >:(
-
You missed one of my games I think, Dan :) One of my posts contained 2 games: vs Jéré and vs Yellow. I also played vs Hounk the day before
Small edit for myself:
I still have to play MrNumbers, Quevy, Farin, Leven and Zone2.
I'll be on today until 16.00 CET, sunday I can be on at any time, monday I can be on at any time and tuesday I can be on until 21.00 (gotta love taking a few days off to get a long weekend!)

Thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't spotted it. I've updated the scores now. Hopefully they're correct!
You guys are going great guns! 6 matches played already. We've managed 2 so far but hopefully we'll get another 2 or 3 in this evening depending on who's around...

A Big Box could be arranged. It would more than likely be empty though, and wouldn't have anything to do with Carcassonne...
-
"I like Big Boxes and I cannot lie..." *singing*
Today after 6pm I be on until 2am again if able to play against me.

Hey Yellow! What about 9pm? We need somebody to host right?

MrNumbers vs. Hounk
Very close game! One of the closest I ever played!
-
Zone2 vs. Hounk
-
Had both been very enjoyable games for me, although I lost both. Wouldn't have believed, that I might come that close to the "Nr. 1 set" player of our group, but I had the advantage of trapping his builder quite early for what not necessarily was but ultimately turned out to be the rest of the game. Mr.Number once finally had the opportunity, to set it free, but only by sacrificing the biggest farm with 20something tiles to play, so he of course avoided that.
-
I've created a x-list for the scoring.
Hounk and Jerè have played 5 games.
quevy and farin didn't play any game yet.
11 games were played till this afternoon (German time).
The highest score: 222 points.
The smallest score: 98 points.
The highest score difference: 95 points.
The smallest score difference: 4 points.

MrNumbers vs. Leven
-
Jéré vs. zone2
-
Zone2 vs Leven. :(
Zone2 reached a new group-record with 227 pts.
Little comfort fo me, that my score (203 pts) is overall the 3rd best so far (and obviously the best score for a loser). Main reason for that is that huge city near the middle where we both had 3 followers. But Zone2 was the lucky to finish it which was decisive since all those fine trade goods went to him. This happened quite early in the game, the rest of it was only damage recovery for me. Anyway, be aware of Zone2, he seems very strong.
Another curiosity of this game was that all 20 trade goods had been collected (= there were no incomplete cities with trade goods in the end). I suppose this is something which does not happen quite often. E.g. when I played against Jéré we collected only 7 trade goods altogether. (Well, that might be a record as well. :) )
-
If anyone wants to play me today, I'm available all day. (Also tomorrow and the day after that!)
-
My game vs zone2 was a quick one, but he got me quite good!
The game was a constant battle for the big cities where he every single time managed to sneak in and close it off for the trade goods, so while the score was tied, he was getting a lead on the trade goods.. The battle for the farm was also won bigtime by him, he kept drawing perfect tiles to get extra farmers in it, only using 2 turns each farmer most of the time. All the while he used every opportunity to block me off. Very well played by zone2 :)
(sorry for the messed up screenshot, forgot to move out the score from the board... Not much happened top left)

Hounk win 234-123
He first connected third and ousted my little man, stopped my attempts addition, closed the closest 2 moves through the manufacturer.
He secured 80 points and 30 cities of goods, with 110 points ahead I could not do anything to recover.

Correction: Yall vs Leven 144-170 ::)
-
Jere 139 - Farin 131
great and tough game, a lot of blocking and trapping, Jere get 30 trade goods points with only 4 pieces. Each token is important!
-
Great game Farin. Very tough one!! Well played!
-
Jerè and farin - that was a close game.
Congrats to Jerè.

Correction: Yall vs Leven 144-170 ::)
Hey! I can try ;)
My bad!

Almost Midnight here, thought I announce before I go to bed that I am up to play again Monday-Friday after 6pm-2am CET / Stockholm against those I've not have met yet.

Here comes the newest x-list.
Included all the games from today and the stats.
-
Well done everyone. I had no idea so many games had taken place! Your 21 plus our 12 means we've already played 33 games in less than a week! :(y) :(y) :(y)
-
Our advantage is, that we are within an hour more or less the same timezone. Thanks to kettlefish for the great scoring lists from me, too.
-
Look at this. Hounk won by the smallest possible margin. :(
I need to think about it how I could lose this one as Hounk had no more meeple in the last quarter of the game.
-
Leven vs. Hounk
Probably the oddest game of the league. Leven blocked me beautiful, so that with probably 40 tiles to go, I had no single meeple at disposal. My last one I placed as a farmer, because I knew, it was mandatory to get at least even on the largest farm. The only thing I could do in the finish of the game was adding to my big city and cloister and bocking Leven from getting into the city and the main farm again.
The result seems fitting to the strangeness of the game, although a tie would have at least be more appropriate. My most important tile was the cfff up and to the right of Levens 6 point knight.
-
Wow, crazy game. Must be annoying to loose by 1 pt.
-
Wow, crazy game. Must be annoying to loose by 1 pt.
It is, indeed, but still I will remember this one as one of the most interesting games I've ever played. I think Hounk deserved the win because of the awesome defending he presented in the final phase of the game, not allowing me to join the big farm and the big city with another meeple. (Putting that CCCF tile was a brilliant move.)
So bad it's not possible to view a playback of the whole game in JCZ, I think it would be quite educational.
There was still around 20 tiles to the end when none of us had any more meeple in the supply. At that time I had a lead by circa 25 points but then it was already certain that Hounk would win a 30 pt (incompletable) city in the end, he led 2:1 in trade goods, and he had two valuable (incompletable) cloisters as well. The big farm was almost completely surrounded, there was only minor chance to break the tie there.
A few tiles later I got a follower back by finishing a road, and so I began my mission to collect as many points as I can with that single available follower in the remaining time. As I didn't want to lose that follower, I only deployed it if it gave me points immediately (mainly by closing roads). Finally, at my last but one tile I deployed the meeple to a farm which gave me 6 points. But it was just not enough because in the meantime Hounk was able to place a tile in the surrounding of his cloister which gave him an extra point in the end. And finally he won with this single point. Unbelievable.
Excellent game, Hounk, congratulations. :(y)
-
Thank you for the high praise and the good sportsmanship, it was really a great and memorable game for myself. I think, I did learn a lot about Carcassonne from the few JCZ games, I participated in the last weeks, and of course this game tough me by itself a great lot, because you have been a real good, though little unlucky opponent.
-
Yesterday I had some computer issues so I was offline pretty much the entire night.
Today I am off soon to go buy groceries but will be on from 8pm to 2am if someone able to play against me.
irc chat, ventrilo, skype and forum availability during which.

So bad it's not possible to view a playback of the whole game in JCZ, I think it would be quite educational.
I haven't been using it in the current tournament, but previously I have used a free program called "Screen Recorder" (http://www.sketchman-studio.com/rylstim-screen-recorder/) to record games played using JCloisterZone. It simply records everything you see on the screen to a video file which you can watch back or do whatever you like with. I've even posted a few videos online (here's a video from last year's base-game only league where MrNumbers taught me a lesson in how not to join a farm: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9XaDW7_ltE)...

zone2: 170, Yellow: 157
-
Farin vs. Hounk 166:173
To be honest, farin played much better than me. I did a lot of mistakes, especially concerning farming and meeple management. I was very lucky in winning and closing the big city on the bottom right, so I got a healthy supply of points and a sure win of the trade goods there.
-
My third game against Hounk. It's classic, I lost big city, all trade goods, focusing to rest of game to finally lose by few points.
Trade goods is my weakness, I must improve this to not have 30 points shortage every game :-)
But must admint that it's not clever play into big city to make it bigger when you have better position. It's too risky.
-
Concerning the trade goods: I earned 2 barrels of wine and 1 grain early in the game, the grain by closing a small city of farin, one wine from a medium city from him, and one from a small city of my own next to it. I have mixed feelings about the wine from farins city, because it gave him 16 points right away and I did not need it at all in the end. But he most likely would have finished the city anyway soon and it led to a near certain win of the wine trade after I got the big city. (I needed to block or win just one other token afterwards.) The cloth was decided by the big city only, so the only option where farin might have gained points after that would have been wheat. I'm not sure, how the distribution went exactly on those.

Thanks for the suggestion, Dan.
Yesterday I tried the Screen Recorder. It's very easy to use, but makes only few settings possible (almost nothing, you just hit the "Start" and it records the whole area of the screen, real-time). I recorded a game which lasted almost half an hour, and the result was a 176 MB avi file. Maybe a bit large, especially if you'd like to record and archive all the competition games you play.
So, after that, I searched for other free screen recording softwares on the net, and ran into CamStudio. It's way more complex than Screen Recorder, has a lot of options and settings for recording. E.g. you can define a particular area of the screen, or select a given window to record, you can add a time stamp to the video, but what is more important, it is possible to make time-lapse videos: for this you can set how often the recorder will capture frames and how many frames it will include in one second. I've been experimenting with the settings today, the latest recording with 7x timelapse became a 22 MB file, but I assume it could be even smaller with even more sophisticated settings. So far it's very promising.

Thanks for the suggestion, Dan.
You're welcome! :)

I certainly agree about the simplistic approach. I don't have access to it where I am at the moment, so can't check for sure, but you can at least specify a video codec to use and a frame rate which may help to reduce the overall file size. I haven't had a problem with storage so far even after recording most of the games I either played or hosted from the base-game league and the World Cup last year, as well as a handful of weekly games. They take up maybe 5 - 10gb between them which is nothing really by today's standards; 32gb USB stick for £8.97 anyone?

Yellow vs Leven.
-
My game against Yellow was again a very exciting one. For a long time it was a head to head match. In the first half of the game Yellow successfully finished some medium and big cities, gaining plenty of trade goods. so in the second half of the game I was focusing on getting the majority on the main farm. In the end I succeeded (luckily I drew some proper tiles), while Yellow had no more followers for the last 20 tiles.
If you are interested, here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQsDpIcaOhc) you can watch the whole game on video (made by CamStudio).
(Switch to HD for better quality.)

Nice video. This was really a close one.

Good stuff Leven. Thanks for sharing.

Included all the games from 24 01 2015
--------------------------------------------
zone2 and Hounk have played all their 8 games against theire opponents.
NrNumers and Jerè have to play only one game left - both against their opponent quevy.
-
Leven 162 - 138 Farin
My first game in league which was not about trade goods but about farm majority.
-
And here is the time-lapse video of the game: http://youtu.be/v5q9l15ZjGs (http://youtu.be/v5q9l15ZjGs)
It could have easily ended the other way. With some luck I was able to prevent Farin from equalizing the number of farmers on the main farm, and finally this was the key for the victory.
-
Very interesting to watch, thank you. But it is at times a little difficult to see, where farin put his tiles, because of the time laps and you did not mark the last placed tiles with the "x" key.

For the last 24 tiles it was turned on, but yes, I forgot to use it from the beginning, sorry.
-
No reason to be sorry about that. I just mentioned it.
-
Here comes the newest x-list.
Included all the games until 29 01 2015
It was only one game played since my last x-list.
--------------------------------------------
Stats League B:
zone2 and Hounk have played all their 8 games against theire opponents.
League points 18 to 12
The total players score points of both are 217 points different 1530 to 1313, but together they received 2843 points.
---------------------------------------
Stats League A - total players score from danisthirty and Rosco 1400 to 1407, but together they received 2807 points - that means League A has 36 points less than League B.
I used only the players who finished all their games.
---------------------------------------
NrNumers, Jerè and Leven have to play only one game left - all against their opponent quevy.
farin has to play against Yall and against Yellow. And they all need to play against quevy.
-
Quevy is very busy these days, but maybe this weekend we can play our match.
-
Yellow, Yall, quevy - i will be probably available next week almost every evening - starting from Sunday, since eg 21.00 CET
So if you wanna play out match sent me a PM.

Sounds good. I will be on at that time as well during any weekday. Drop me a PM too if able to play!

Quevy 177 - Jéré 155
Congrats Quevy! I think he will be first to admit that the luck factor played an important role in the game. There was a big city very easy to close: nobody had majority but it contained lots of trade goods. It was whoever would close it first to get the goods and it took ridiculously long (10+ turns) to get the right tile. Quevy got it. He also scored 26 pts with the last tile, joining the main field. I was trying to block so that tile was a tough one to get... Very lucky Quevy.

-
Congratulations on a great win, Quevy! That makes very interesting situation in our group:
1. If I win or draw Quevy, I will secure myself first place in Group B, with zone2 on the second and Jere on the third.
2. I lost to Quevy:
a) Quevy has all chances to finish at the top of the group, if he wins all remaining matches with enough score differential to beat me and zone2;
b) If Quevy looses one more match, then my lost to him must not be more than 21 point to stay on the top, otherwise zone2 will beat me on score differential and it will make him the leader of our group.
-
It seems this is quevy's day:
Quevy vs Leven 207:115 (!)
I think it was my most awful game in the league, I was largely unsuccessful in doing anything. With the final tile quevy even finished a big city with lots of trade goods, just to push me even deeper.
Very good play, quevy, congratulations.

Two tiles final very fortunate today. I must say though the game against you was not won for that as against Jerè, I am satisfied with how I managed the game, my biggest problem when I play.
-

But just not deep enough! :'( Rah, I should have beaten you by two points rather then by one! >:D

Well, that... is... UNBELIEVABLE!!! :))
-
To be honest, I rather did not loose the place in our game, but in the one against farin. ;) After I won luckily a big city there, while farin was fighting back greatly, I had some mediocre moves, I could not be satisfied with. So I thought right at the spot, that I should not to be too contend with that tight win, because I might have lost some valuable secondary points the way, our group played out. I did not consider ending up in front of you though, but Yall and quevy could also take advantage of my negative point difference.
-
I will be on tonight until 2am again this Monday (8 hours from now) if farin and quevy is up for their games.
Online in Ventrilo and irc chat, checking it every 5-15 mins while working.

Here comes the new x-score list.
Jerè, Hounk, Leven and zone2 have finished all their 8 games.
-
i am on irc chat today
-
Farin needs to play against Yellow, Yall and quevy.
-
I've been very busy last week, but I got a few days off the next couple of days, so if possible I'd like to play quevy and farin then!
On the brightside, my bigbox from Basically Wooden arrived today, yay!
-
No matches was played today for me. I'll be online again tomorrow evening as usual, case of. :(y)
-
Yellow vs farin
-
here comes the new x-score list - League B:
farin has won his first game against Yellow and received 3 league points.
Yellow has only one chance to get 3 Points - his last opponent is quevy.
-
We have here at the League B some games to play:
farin - Yall
quevy against:
- MrNumbers
- Yellow
- farin
- Yall
-
Just played my final game with Quevy. It was awkward game, everything seemed strange - many small farms, strange cities, almost no useful cloisters... But, despite quevy has trapped my two meeples quite early, I managed to win the big city with many trade goods, and that sealed the deal!
See you in final battle, Dan! >:D

I was elated to be able to block two followers to MrNumber and I ended up playing with less concentration, congratulations to the winner of the round.
I did play with yellow, I'm sorry for having taken away the last chance to score points.

Here comes the new x-score list for the League B.
Congratulations to you MrNumbers - you have the most League points in both Leagues (A+B) = 21 points.
Sorry for you Yellow - I really hoped that you would get 3 points, but quevy played well against you.
----------------------
In League B are 3 games open:
farin - Yall
quevy - farin
quevy - Yall
-
See you in final battle, Dan! >:D
Well done MrNumbers! I'm looking forward to it already... ;)
-
hi guys, today I will be online (and able to play) during day and not at evening. So if you prefere different time then evening it's unique opportunity :-)
-
what is with the last 3 games?
-
I've been a bit busy lately, so haven't really had the time to set up my last 2 matches vs Farin and Quevy.
If any of those 2 are available, I will be ready to go tonight after 23.00 (gmt+1), and most of tomorrow during the day.

A bit off topic but it's related do this post in particular and not sure it warrants a full thread: Playing 3 carcassonne games at once using alt-tab. See how good you are juggling the games.

This is something the German champion did at Essen last year I think. He played about ten games at once and walked between the tables taking his turn in each game before going back up to the top table and moving down them all again!
-
You can do it in chess and win half the games. It is impressive to watch. The secret is to reply your first opponents move in the second game etc. That way your opponents end up playing each other with you simply relating the moves. Would not work in Carcassonne due to the tile draw unfortunately. Although if you stacked the deck. ....

Hi
sorry I am now on vacation with poor connection.
As I said in PM, I would like to finish all games asap. I will be home from Sunday (and I can play at sunday evening) I will check irc channel,
-
Another small update: (sorry in advance!)
I am so so soooo busy lately, and I'll be gone and without internet for 1 week from sunday to friday. I know I have 2 more open games, but I just don't have the time to finish them.
If it's needed to keep this going, perhaps giving me a loss on both, and for the scoring just get the average win scores of my opponents?
-
@quevy @farin @Yall:
The Traders & Builders league has been running for a lot longer than I’d anticipated now and I’d really like to get it finished as quickly as possible. Especially since there is still the final round to play (i.e. Group A 1st vs Group B 1st down to Group A 9th vs Group B 9th) for everyone.
Yall has already offered to forfeit his two outstanding matches as he’s unavailable to play them, although I’m still very happy for him to play either/ both if the opportunity to do so arises. However, I think if quevy and farin cannot play each other by the end of this week then we will call it losses all round (0 points) and leave the score differentials unchanged. So please let me know what’s going on as soon as possible!
Obviously this isn’t ideal as I’d much rather all games be played as intended. But if this really is impossible, it isn’t fair to delay the league any further as we now have the Inns & Cathedrals league queuing up behind it with people waiting to start playing.
-
We tried a couple of times to organize a game and I farin, unfortunately for problems we could, if we're lucky we can play our game tonight.
-

-
the lastest game is now finished.
Gratulations to you quevy.
So - here comes the final list.
What are you thinking about my decision how I did the x-score list with the final score?
-
Did Yall mean that he will definitely not be able to play his last two games? What if we can wait one more week? Maybe he will find some time this or next weekend.
-

What are you thinking about my decision how I did the x-score list with the final score?
If a game is forfeited because neither player is able to play the other then the outcome should be a 0 - 0 loss to each player so that neither gets any league points from it or has their score differential affected. So in this case I don't think it is correct to remove those 6 league points from Yall as this leaves his overall total on 0 even though he won two matches. And also, it doesn't seem as though quevy or farin were desperate to make their games with Yall happen but Yall refused to play them, so I don't see that Yall shall be penalised so heavily in this case.
If Yall can play quevy and/ or farin at the weekend then these results can be accepted, but I don't think this stage of the competition should be allowed to continue into the following week as it isn't fair to everyone else...
-
I never intented to have points extracted, indeed.
If Quevy/farin are available I can play my games saturday or sunday evening (after 23.00) or monday (all day, before 21.00)
(Sorry once again, just been too busy)
Edit: If I can get JCZ running on my mac tonight, I can play after 19.00/19.30ish today as well (I'm still on holiday)
-

I use JCZ on a Mac and it's very easy to get it running.
-
Got it running.
Quevy and farin, any chance you got an update on your schedule/available times?
-
Very good.
Send them PMs. You have better chances to reach them.
-
Mails and PM's have been sent, so far:
Farin and I are playing saturday at 23.00
-
The two outstanding games have been arranged!
farin vs. Yall: 21/02/15 23:00 (CET)
quevy vs. Yall: 23/02/15 afternoon (CET)
Many thanks for making the effort guys, and good luck in your games! :)

Yall vs Farin 216-152
Farin got alot of his meeples trapped very early, as well with his builder (which got stuck the whole game).
1 more to go!
-
Congratulations to you Yall - sorry for you farin...
It was important that I have used negative points for my last x-score list (as a warning C:-) ) - so we have one of the last 2 games finished. >:D
The last one: Yall and quevy in the next days.
-
The last one: Yall and quevy in the next days.
And if I'm not mistaken then this last game will decide who will finish 4th in group B.
Currently I am standing there but either Yall or Quevy wins, the winner will overtake me. (And also Hounk will lose his current 5th place.)
-
Yea, I noticed that before. Farin should have won against Yall and then Yall against quevy, then they all would have stayed behind us. Any other result brings one of them in front of us both. (Because Yall had a less negative secondary score then the two of us, which can only improve with two wins, and for quevy is a tie enough to get 13 points, while we each have 12.)
-
Thanks and well done for arranging your game farin and Yall. Once the final game has been played, the ranking for Group B can be established and the "grand finale" round can take place to determine a final overall ranking!

Yall vs Quevy 148-192
After a while I thought the game was lost for me, until I got the main lead in the farm. Quevy was smart enough to get another farmer on it though, and blocked my final attempt to tie the score for the big city top left. Well played Quevy!
And there we go, the last game has been played in the group stage!
-
(http://i60.tinypic.com/2mgrq1h.jpg)
The battle for the farm was interesting, you've locked me very well, I managed to equalize for a nap.
-
Thanks Yall and quevy! 8) This completes Group B; final standings are shown below:
1st - MrNumbers: 21 (+284)
2nd - zone2: 18 (+197)
3rd - Jere: 18 (+99)
4th - quevy: 15 (-7)
5th - Leven: 12 (-39)
6th - Hounk: 12 (-40)
7th - Yall: 9 (0)
8th - farin: 3 (-230)
9th - Yellow: 0 (-264)
Which means that the final matches will be as follows:
Battle for 1st/2nd: danisthirty vs. MrNumbers
Battle for 3rd/4th: jungleboy vs. zone2
Battle for 5th/6th: Carcking vs. Jere
Battle for 7th/8th: Rosco vs. quevy
Battle for 9th/10th: ny1050220 vs. Leven

Battle for 15th/16th: B1nder vs. farin
Battle for 17th/18th: Andrew the Ambo vs. Yellow
Let's do it! :blue-meeple: :(y)

Here is now the final x-score list for the league B:
-
Thanks Yall and quevy! 8) This completes Group B; final standings are shown below:
7th - Yall: 9 (0)
Amazing that Yall's score difference was exactly 0.
-
Completing this tournament feels like an achievement in itself. Good job everyone! :)
...and finishing 3rd while being undefeated against 1st & 2nd creates some sort of paradox. Interesting! :)
-
...and finishing 3rd while being undefeated against 1st & 2nd creates some sort of paradox. Interesting! :)
Our entire group was a paradox! We had so many little triangles of x beating y, y beating z and z beating x that the whole thing made no sense at all! Your match against Carcking should be very interesting!
-
Thanks Yall and quevy! 8) This completes Group B; final standings are shown below:
7th - Yall: 9 (0)
Amazing that Yall's score difference was exactly 0.
How nice would it be for me to tie Decar now? ;)
