I just wanted to weigh in on this topic again - I'm still trying to decide if I need to get Wheel of Fortune AND Big Box 5, or only one.
Either way I have done some research on this "expansion" and where to buy it.
I'm pretty sure Wheel of Fortune is only available in English (
The Wheel of Fortune), Dutch (
Het Rad van Fortuin) and German Languages (
Das Schicksalsrad) - however the new version included with
Big Box 5 (which is available in most of our countries) has a language-independent wheel (it doesn't have any text on it). This might be better suited. Although if you want to have all of the tiles with the watermark you will need to get the stand-alone version, in
BB5 only 12 tiles are watermarked.
The Wheel of Fortune and
Das Schicksalsrad are both out of print -
Het Rad van Fortuin is the only version in print, although you may be able to find the other two if you are lucky or are happy to pay a lot.
Das Schicksalsrad also includes a novel, in German, if that interests you.
A lot of online shops in The Netherlands only delivery to their own country (and Belgium too usually) - so finding a way to get
Het Rad van Fortuin delivered to you can be difficult. The following shops deliver to the UK (and should to other countries too) - I have listed the price of the game and the shipping cost to the UK:
Shop | Price | Shipping (to UK) | Total (€) |
thegamefreak.nl | € 22.80 | € 17.50 | € 40.30 |
boardandgames.com | € 23.50 | € 9.99 | € 33.49 |
boardgameshop.eu | € 22.50 | € 18.00 | € 40.50 |
spelmagazijn.be | € 22.95 | € 12.50 | € 35.45 |
summoner.nl | € 21.95 | € 15.00 | € 36.95 |
They are all around the same price but the shipping costs vary greatly. Big Box 5 can be had for €42 (plus shipping) on Amazon.de and would, for example, cost about €7.50 for shipping to the UK.
Hopefully this is of use to some of you. Happy Shopping!
