General / Carcassonne Japan Edition

My buddy got me a copy of Carcassonne from his trip to Japan - I was so hoping the bottoms had a J instead of the C, but the J was just for the box art, <sigh>

Still cool it came with the Japanese Buildings

Official Rules / C2 - Any rules for Highwaymen, Water Tower, or Farmhouses?

So diving back into Carcassonne Collection mode and I’m debating if it’s worth it for BB6 Big Box 2017. I already own c2 base, c2 River, c2 T&B, and c2 I&C. However, I don’t know if I NEED c2 Minis if I already own c1 Minis, so it boils down to integration with other expansions with extra features on tiles.

I skimmed through all the BB6 Big Box 2017 posts and the latest CAR, but couldn’t find any posts about this yet. From what I see, I count x3 Gardens (Abbot component) and x2 Cow/Pig (Leipzig component). But if the x3 Farmhouses, x3 Water Towers, and/or x3 Highwaymen are used in an official or fan expansion that I am unaware of, this might persuade me to get them

General / Colored Dragons

Colored Dragons found on Etsy! I had a fan expansion that I can’t find at the moment but it was about everyone having their own colored dragon that gets on the board when their colored egg tile is drawn. I’m forgetting the rules, but I think I was tinkering with the player moving their dragon color instead of placing a follower on their turn, but the dragon movement is limited to like 3 or something. Maybe someone on here more savvy at locating old threads can source the original post

Another crazy find on Etsy - 3D tiles? Looks cool (color scheme is ugly) reminds me of the Lego design from back in the day. Still not drawing these out of a bag so maybe just a novelty display

News and Events / Cundco - Big Meeple Set for coasters!

I just happen to be perusing Cundco and stumbled on these nice Big Meeples sized for Carc Coasters!

I did the math and they check out about right for the coasters from the Kickstarter!

Coasters are 1.975555555555556 times bigger than the regular tiles

Regular meeple: 16mm wide x 15.98mm tall x 9.94mm thick

Converting the Meeple size from the coaster size increase:

31.60888888888889mm wide x 31.56937777777778mm tall x 19.63702222222222mm thick

Big Meeple set from Germany:

35 x 35 x 14 mm

Couldn’t find anything out there on the forum about these, so thought I would share in case people were looking for a set to pair with the coaster packs.

Also, I still have a few more Carc coaster packs left in the closet - PM if interested! Not to mention the 15,000 random assortment of Carc coasters in the garage - can’t find a home for these and it feels wrong to toss... Anyone know of nerd bars who are still open, or if anyone wants random coasters not part of a set?

It’s been awhile - hope everyone here old and new have been good! I am so far behind on my Carc collection, but seeing missing Spiel tiles in the box just bugs me haha. The new Carcassonne Winter River looks super nice (I remember pitching that to Moritz during the Kickstarter, glad to see it finally has been produced!).

General / Carcassonne as wall art

It's been awhile since I've been on here! A lot of new screen names I don't recognize, which means this community is still thriving!

Yesterday we painted our garage and decided to use some left over Carcassonne Coasters and use them to make a mural. (i still have THOUSANDS in bins) Naturally, we played a game of Carcassonne while we did this so thought I would share it here

Yellow 550 > Red 532 - such a close game for being so massive! Since we had so many random coasters in the bin, we decided the "end of the game" would be when we ran out of wall putty instead of running out of tiles haha. Worked out rather nicely.

Other Games / Tannhäuser - Need help from Norway and Russia

Hey guys!

It's been way too long since I've been on here - hope everyone has been doing well! Just picked up Under the Top, but haven't taken the plastic off yet

I've recently started collecting expansion sets for a game called Tannhäuser and found a couple in Norway and Russia. However, these sites only ship within their own country, so I'm hoping somebody on here either lives there or knows someone who does who could possibly help me out with shipping them to the USA?

News and Events / Carcassonne Shoppe Closure

Sorry for another sad announcement today. After many years, we are finally closing up the Shoppe. The direction where the Shoppe is going was not what we had envisioned. Too many communication issues and roadblocks with what we want to do.

We would like to thank Hans im Glück, Carcassonne On Tour, and Klaus-Jürgen Wrede for all the amazing support they had given us along the way. We would also like to thank Carcassonne Central - without you guys, we wouldn't have existed for so long! And of course, we would like to thank our loyal customers for supporting us at every launch date.

But it wouldn't be a proper send off without an awesome going out of business sale.

The first week, (starting right now), every boxed game is 50% off! We also have signed Spiel 14 tiles. Each week will have a different sale.

Did any of you attend PAX this year? I was able to go the 2nd day last minute and was completely bummed to find out they had a Carcassonne tournament the 1st day.... I must say though, Cards Against Humanity had one helluva presentation making it worth attending by itself!
