Cundco have just released a set of 13 teachers in different colours!
You can get a bag with 10 in a specific colour, or a set of 13 different ones!

Judging from the pictures, these are definatly teacher meeples, and not the phantoms!

When I saw it, I checked the extra player sets, hoping for them to have a full set in lime geen, but not yet...

Abbots can be bought at Cundco in the spare parts section, and boardgameextras have them as well. The 'normal' colours can't be bought via either I'm afraid. I think boardgameextras used to have grey abbots, but not at the moment

Meeplesource are selling 19 piece player sets that include both the abbot and ringmaster in brown, Orange, white, pink, and purple. Unfortunately, they don't have have any unpainted, but they do have a set in lime green.

And boardgameextras has those sets to, in those colours. I think they're imported from meeplesource. Could be cheaper with shipping and all. But those sets are quit a bit more expensive than the sets from cundo :'(

Oh, I didn't realise Board Game Extras had them in stock too, thanks for the heads up! - I've been holding off buying the tertiary colour sets to see if meeplesource had any kind of celebratory sale after moving their HQ, but I can now hopefully save a bit on shipping if I can get them from BGE.
edit: nope, they've marked the prices up, so its actually cheaper to have them shipped from the US.

Meeplesource are selling 19 piece player sets that include both the abbot and ringmaster in brown, Orange, white, pink, and purple. Unfortunately, they don't have have any unpainted, but they do have a set in lime green.
Fair warning on the Meeplsource figures — while they are nice, high-quality pieces, the shapes, sizes, colors, and "style of color application" differ than the HiG figures. In particular, the Abbot and Mayor are quite a bit different (with the Mayor being even _less_ distinguishable from a large meeple than HiG's). The colors are more vibrant and applied thicker (leaving less of the wood grain to show through).
Still glad to have them, but there are differences to note!

Ditto on both. I appreciate the warning ... was planning to get some of the Meeplesource figures, but now I will reconsider.

They look as if they were cast and hardened differently. To be seen with the brown ones.
That was not the case with the old ones.

Cufflinks? been there done that.
Earrings? I only have 1 ear pierced, leaves 12.
I know.....how about a new scoring metric for Carcassonne? That could work?
Idea for base game only.
Every time a new city is started a teacher is placed in it. Teachers are claimed when a city is completed by the active player, not necessarily the scoring player.
At the end of the game the teacher meeples are scored as per the rules for the gold bars in the mini expansion The Gold Mines.
1-3 teachers @ 1 point each
4-6 teachers @ 2 points each
7-9 teachers @ 3 points each
10+ teachers @ 4 points each
It is possible that the teachers will run out, so adding the phantoms to this is a possibility.....as long as mixing teachers with phantoms doesn't irritate anyone's sensibiliites?...actually just do it. >:D

Originals on the left, new ones on the right. As you can see they're bloody close. New ones are sightly smaller and the purple pigment is ever slightly different. For those people looking for these teachers, these are the next best thing!

And even in the teachers released up to this point there have been differences like this. Ive got several teachers that differ in thickness slightly, kinda like the difference in these.
Now the big question:
Why do others (in the UK) receive their order of them and i have not yet got my order! :o

I just realised that I now have 6 phantoms for my Winter Edition. Yes :(y)
What to do with the other 7?....yes 7, I have a sixth colour added to my winter game over and above the original 5.
My Winter Edition experience is getting better by the week.

I think I will use the lime green transparent meeple as a teacher and the other 12 as phantoms of their respective colors. Nice indeed if you have all the color sets

I have some lime green meeples.....probably from Boardgameextras, so I can use that one too!
Just ordered lavender meeples. No idea why!

Got my order today. Very happy to have these.
I know most of us already know which opaque colors show up where, but in case any new players are listening, I've noted the sets that the teacher-figures generally correspond to on a per-color basis...

EDIT: One thing the image does not make clear is that C-II expansions that add figures will have Pink as their sixth color, rather than Grey.

Sorry for necroposting. It appears that Cundco sells now a transparent 10-meeple set only. Grey, brown and beige are no longer available. Anyone with a spare set willing to sell the old 13-meeple set or just the 3 meeples in the colors I mentioned above?

Ok, I managed to find an ebay vendor who claimed to have the acrylic meeples in all colors and ordered the 3 colors I was missing. Unfortunately he sent me a black meeple instead of gray and now it turns out he doesn't have that color.
So, anyone willing to exchange a gray teacher/phantom with a black one? Or with something else? It's now the only color I am missing.
