WTB: The Tunnel
« on: July 28, 2014, 11:13:32 PM »
Hello,

I am a UK based Carcassonne fan and looking for a copy of 'The Tunnel'.  Please PM me if you are willing to sell a copy or know of somewhere to buy one.  Edit: I have found a copy, thank you for your help.

Many thanks,

Guy

If you like to test first the mini, than you can download it at the HiG homepage.

Thanks Kettlefish.

I've had a play test and really enjoyed it, it'd just be great to have the tiles and counters to go with it rather than using rather tatty pieces of coloured paper!

You should check online local fleamarkets. :)

I bought like a week ago from an online Finnish fleamarket, an unopened copy of the tunnel, for only 5 euros, including shipping.. :)

You might get lucky, so check UK online sites that sells all kinds of stuff.. :)

Odd. I find the mechanism to be completely busted. The fact that you can place down one of your tunnel tokens whenever and where ever you want on your turn and then you don't ever have to place down the second token means you could very easily permanently strand an opponent's follower on a road for the rest of the game. My group figured this out the first time a tunnel tile was drawn and played, and we all looked at each other thinking who the hell thought this up? They obviously didn't spend any time whatsoever playtesting it.

I don't think Spielbox playtests any of its expansions for Carcassonne. That being said, an easy fix to that specific problem is to keep all the tunnel markers in a pool so that no single player can block a road from being completed. To make things fair, though, the placement of the tunnel marker is instead of placing wood. Players that draw a tunnel can still place a token as a free move, though.

Isn't the easiest solution for this, to just add a little bonus rule, saying you aren't allowed to put a tunnel token on a tunnel opening to a road that already has a follower on it? :)

I'm soooo gonna have that extra rule... :)  Problem solved!  :(y)

Th rule should be: You may put a tunnel token only on a tunnel opening of a road with a follower of yourself.

That's the rule we play, we go on the logic that the ingenuity of the meeple means he digs the tunnel.

It works really well with that modification.

Sure! :) But I think you need to understand Finnish to use them, or use google translate. :)

My copy of the tunnel I found from Huuto.net

http://www.huuto.net/hakutulos?words=carcassonne&search-button=Hae

Right now they sell other Carcassonne stuff but no tunnel..

then there is Tori.. :)

http://www.tori.fi/koko_suomi?q=carcassonne&cg=0&w=3&st=s&st=k&st=u&st=h&st=g&ca=16&l=0&md=th

Right now they don't sell any Carcassonne stuff, I have just a few "want to buy" Carcassonne items there.. :)

I dunno any UK fleamarkets, but these 2 are the ones I know of in Finland and I check them regulary to see if I get lucky and find Carcassonne stuff.. :)

Oh damn... I just realize I have a Finnish rival who also hunts Carcassonne goodies online!  ;D

Ah well, I think the Finnish Carcassonne scene is big enough for both of us..  ^-^ <3 :(y)
