Hi Bekse,
Sorry, it seems I haven't received your PM somehow.
I'm free this evening after 9 pm. Would that be suitable for you?
Tomorrow seems also OK.

dronedrone and I played our games this evening:

Game 1

Most of this game was played with just 1 or 2 meeples each as we both invested heavily into a city which became impossible to complete when I killed it off in order to trap another of dronedrone's meeples on an adjacent road. I also managed to prevent what had seemed like a relatively safe attempt for dronedrone to get a second farmer onto the main farm as I drew both of the fffr tiles and used them elsewhere for my own benefit.

I was concerned at points that this game was slipping away from me, especially when dronedrone claimed what would have been a game-changing city if it had been completed. A fortunately-times cccr tile helped me to prevent him from doing this, and I felt I could rest a little when I went on to complete a tidy 12-point city and get a second farmer of my own onto the main farm. dronedrone seemed pretty dangerous with his last meeple though, and kept it back until such point that he could make a strong attempt to tie the farm with me. But fortunately (for me) I was able to keep it off and the final scores swung in my favour despite struggling to get any worthwhile points from either my knight or my monk on the left side of the landscape.

Game 2

This game was quite a nail-biter! After being gently eased into the game with lots of road tiles for both of us, the game got going once we'd both started fighting for the farm, which was two separate farms until I joined them together with a fffr cloister to establish a majority of two farmers of mine against one of dronedrone's. dronedrone wouldn't stay behind though, and despite my best efforts to trap him and prevent him adding more farmers he had soon tied me with two, and then three farmers each...

As the number of tiles left in the bag reached single figures I was struggling to find the ffxx tile I required to join my fourth farmer to the main farm. I felt safe though, until dronedrone unexpectedly got one of his meeples back! I say unexpectedly, but perhaps not undeservedly as he'd been extending a long road he had going every time he drew a road tile, so it became quite valuable over the course of the game thanks to the number of road tiles he drew! Anyway, extending the farm in this way gave me another opportunity to get a fourth farmer down so I took a risk with my last meeple rather than putting it on the incomplete city in the bottom-right corner where I'd been dumping city tiles with the intention of claiming the points at some point before the end of the game. Fortunately dronedrone wasn't able to claim this either, but took 3 points from a farmer instead. As luck would have it, the final tile of the game (a crfr) was useful to me to win the main farm outright and rob dronedrone of 33 points in the process. Otherwise, the scores could have been very different!

Overall scores: 2 - 0 to me, and +/- 66PD for myself and dronedrone respectively.

Thanks for the games dronedrone, and good luck with the rest of the competition! :(y)

The match between Bekse and me brought the first tied game in this competition. :P
We both had collected 7 points so far in the league but I was behind because of PD, so my victory in the other game means that now we switch positions.
Here are the results:

:yellow-meeple: Bekse vs :violet-meeple: Leven 78:88

Sincere apologies for the delay. It was in small part due to schedule clashes between Rosco and myself, but mainly due to a lot of recent unavailability on my part.

Riker 104 Rosco 100

Rarely do you see a game end with so few gaps in the landscape at this level. To state the obvious this could have gone either way, but the tiles fell my way crucially at the end of the game to get a couple of late farmers to steel the 24 point field (which Rosco had skilfully stolen from me when I started with a two meeple lead)

Rosco 72 Riker 95

For the first half of this game Rosco had one of the most horrible tile draws I had ever seen. I made the most of this trapping four meeples for a long period and getting a decent lead that I was then able to hold until the end of the game.

Hi everyone.

I've been trying to get hold of @sinscerly but haven't heard from him for a couple of weeks now which is a bit disappointing. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for the time being and am postponing the outcome of his match with JackFace. However, if all other matches from this round get played and this is left outstanding then I will be forced to remove him from the competition and carry on without him. This isn't ideal, and I'm hoping it won't have to happen, but if it does, the standard rule is to discard all of his previous results which will have an impact on the league table for those who have already played him.

Apparently Round 7 was not a good round for Rosco who has dropped 4 places after his clash with Riker. This has put me in the top spot for the time being, but with four rounds left to play there's still everything to play for!

Let's go! (to Round 8 ) (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=4315.msg63395#msg63395)

Finally played my match with Sinscerly this afternoon. The first game was extremely tight, and was won on the final tile - a three point incomplete city to take the game by 1 point.

JackFace 99 Sinscerly 98

I felt more in control of the second game - a couple of trapped opponent meeples enabling me to secure numerical advantage in the big field.

JackFace 115 Sinscerly 74

Anyway, nice to scrape a 2-0 win. Thanks for the games!
