This is probably the wrong post for this chat though; so no doubt it will carry on on the Castle's thread!

Ummm...  :o Where is that thread?  ;D Can't find it...  :-[

So my most recent (slightly delayed) purchase. The postman has brought me the fabled catapult!

I said I'd never purchase this but succumbed fairly quickly. At worst it's 12 new tiles, but I think if I don't take it too seriously then it could possibly end up being, dare I say it, fun. Even if only to watch my friends try and wild the entirely unwieldily catapult!

^ooo nice I've got to get my catapult out soon. I play with altered rules. When the carnival tile is drawn, roll the die from the Flying mini-expansion and receive that many tower pieces. At end of the game, take turns trying to catapult tower pieces into a five point cup (if you have remaining meeples in your supply, place on top of tower piece and launch them away for a better chance).

At some point I want to create a three-ringed scoring target, with the innermost ring being 10 points and outermost being 1.

That sounds like a very interesting and creative alternative way of using the Catapult Meep; thanks for the suggestion!

Welcome to the forums too by the way  :) :(y)

I got something very exciting today  8)

More details can be found here: http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=377.msg22188#msg22188

I wasn't sure whether to post the link here as I very much fell out of love with the postman whilst trying to get hold of these. A £3.67 customs fee, plus £8 handling fee from Royal Mail for doing very little. Not cool.  >:( :(n) :(n)

Also those meeples look great danisthirsty =P I can imagine taking things a bit more personally if someone ate one of my own meeples with the dragon though!

Let me know how it goes if you do! I had a lot of fun with this variant last month. My girlfriend and I were both tied after regular end-game scoring and it was all up to the catapult. I scored on only one of my eight shots and she hadn't scored at this point but she had 6 pieces left. She managed to score on her LAST tower piece and get the tie back. Fun stuff.

Got my copy of Castles in Germany today. Unfortunately I won't be playing it for a little while, but they look awesome!

I managed to secure a second-hand Hunters & Gatherers this week, it's now at my house in Australia. Quite happy about that =)
