Title: attic sale
Post by: oldbonz on July 21, 2019, 05:36:09 AM
Like every Sunday, I went hunting on a yard sale. This morning was my lucky day. I found for 3€ a basic C1 version in perfect condition because the children who owned it neither found it interesting nor preferred the Playstation. Then, in an unlikely "bric a brac" I found an old silver ring that I paid 2€. On my way home I rubbed the old jewelry and all blackened and oh! happiness. The motif is the entrance door to the citadel of Carcassonne, the coat of arms is no longer legible, but it is still very beautiful.

here is an old knife set from 1900/1915, the handle is made of horn and the steel blade very sharp. Realized by the company Millet (goldsmith, jeweller) in Carcassonne, a curiosity

A ring like that is just a regular accessory or does it have a story behind it?

this ring represents the gate of the city of Carcassonne
It is carved in hollow which represents a complicated work of faithful representation of the gate of the city.
This type of ring is no longer made at all, we made this kind of jewelry in the 1920s and 1930s, it has no particular history to my knowledge, it is just an original jewel that I bought in a fair, it had to come out of a drawer at the bottom of an attic because it was all black with silver oxidation, the jeweler who cleaned it for me had never seen any of this type
That's it, ah, if I almost forgot, she reminds me of the game tile.

Good morning all
this morning like almost every Sunday, I went to a small flea market and I discovered this watercolor reproduction that I acquired for 1.50 €, amateurs will be able to redo the city for their game in C1 if they have patience and a little talent.
I provide the png file on request, the resolution is what it is

Love this thread! Can't decide which I love the most - the ring or the picture. Great finds.

I found this object this morning in a flea market in Castenaudary.
It is a pillbox for a hospital which got rid of it.
the elements allow the storage of approximately 100 tiles and can be fitted with sliding dividers. The lot included 50 pieces for 5 € the lot I bought everything, and now I am storing all my tiles in an identical storage format.

Looks cool!

Are you adding some separators to tag the expansions?

So cool! It looks great!

Hey! I can see some familiar tiles in the box. How can that be possible?  ;)

Hmm. I wonder if it would bring luck in a Carcassonne tournament? I'd love to try it out!

EDIT: Is it the same as this one: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vtg-sz-sterling-silver-ring-medieval-540674321 ?

hi danisthirty
it's the same signet ring, however mine is over 100 years old, which explains its wear (I wear it every day)
