Well I have no chance this round!

Good plan. Lull him into a false sense of security and then - wham! - give him a taste of what he's in for after it's too late...

khalidqasrawi and I played tonight both matches tonight. A rather (make that very) surprising result if I'm honest. Both games were very close and really could have gone either way. I threw a bit of caution to the wind in the second game and fortunately it paid off, but it could have gone horribly wrong! Thanks very much for the tough games Khalid and good luck for the remainder of the tournament.

I still don't have Internet at home but I shared my 4G mobile connection with the laptop and it worked pretty good.

Game#1 (Starting player: Jéré)

Halfling played very well and I was behind the whole game but I managed to steal the main field with my last tile.

:red-meeple: Jéré       103
:yellow-meeple: Halfling    97

I do have Internet.

Game#2 (Starting player: Halfling)

I played even better and didn't get overhauled this time!  I was able to use cloisters but Jéré was short on resources at times.

 :yellow-meeple: Halfling 104
 :red-meeple: Jéré        85

I do have Internet.

Lucky! Will get it only June 19 the Internet Provider says. 19 days without internet is long!

What If? and I played our games earlier this afternoon. He won the first, dominated by a few big cities (as starting player) and took the picture of this one. Second one was quite different with small cities and two main farms. Luckily I managed to tie the smaller farm and win the bigger one (they were only 15 and 12 points anyway, with What If getting a 3 city farm), and this decided the close game for me 99:91.

"luckily" he says, but I thought he was being almost crazy for getting my last farmer in and then with an almost perfect block tile given to me he needed the last RRRF-tile, and got it! The chance he took, and it was decisive, was to actually give away a good farm in order to avoid a tie in the biggest field and then come back in. One of the sweetest moves I´ve had against me, and decisive and towards the end as it should be.

If you want to see, check the southeastern red and green farmer in Hounks much nicer picture above. Hounk (green) glomed the red on to the smaller farm with the bent road tile above and gave red majority with one chance only to being able to get back himself via the RRRF tile. I´m still in schock.

First game was decided by one nice defensive move by me saving two meeples being killed in one city and then I had the nicest possible distribution of tiles in quite the right moments.

Both games really nice.
Maybe I shouldn´t buy kathars, what would I do next?

2 great games with glh510 this evening. In both cases the starting player won so it was a tie, although the second game couldn't have been much closer!

First Game:
Dan :blue-meeple: 76 : 71 :green-meeple: glh510

A lot of early trapping in this game seemed like it had put me off to a good start although glh510 possibly gained more points from it all than I did when the final scores were calculated. This game was a bit all over the place after that. I seemed to score a few more 3 or 4 tile cities than I normally do which gave me the edge, although it wasn't secured until I'd also tied the north farm. There was a chance that glh510 could have pipped me at the post but didn't get any of the corners he needed to do so in the last few tiles of the game so I took the win by a whopping 5 points...

Second Game:
glh510 :green-meeple: 101 : 100 :blue-meeple: Dan

My biggest regret in this game was that I wasn't counting the tiles. If I had been, I would have known that the big farm was safely mine with 3 x :blue-meeple: against 2 x :green-meeple: BUT I was nervous about glh510's 3rd farmer which was poised to potentially tie the farm with the last tile of the game. So, I joined my fourth farmer on with my last turn, and glh510 grabbed a 4-point road with his final tile instead since he couldn't have used it to tie the farm with me even if it had made sense for him to have done so. Ultimately I robbed myself of 3 points by doing this as my fourth farmer would have been worth 3 by himself and adding him onto the big farm didn't add any new cities onto it. Ultimately though, glh510 deserved the win and I'm happy with the tie.
