Maybe they can try and hit the tile like those arcade games where you have to build a tower, but the target/cursor moves faster and faster.

Anything Else / I love my FLGS
« on: October 11, 2015, 10:04:59 AM »
I thought I'd start this to compete with the infamous I Love the Postman Thread.

Sometimes I manage to get out of my sofa and visit a shop and on even rarer occasions I buy stuff while I'm there.  and I can't thank the postman for that!  (I guess I could have called the thread - "I love myself")

I visited my FLGS (Friendly Local Game Shop/Store) today and bought:

Co-op deduction game, won SdJ1985 and was reprinted in 2014.

and.....

I couldn't resist!

I'll post some content later so you can all moan at the artwork.  ;)

Well done jazbang!

There's meant to be some heavy reworking on the JCZ internals that should make this easier.  I'd like to be able to turn farmers on and off for example and break components down a little further.  I was going to work on a deck builder for JCZ so you could include tiles and numbers of tiles in a set; but there was little point me starting with until the core was completed to support such plugins.  One day I hope to revisit this!   :(y)

Looks like quite a game!  Great use of farmers and Siege tiles by Ailurus on the left hand side, but it didnt seem to be enough!

All Games from Group B are now complete.  Thanks a lot for fitting your games in!

Two games are left to be played:  Lomdr vs ToastyToast  & Lomdr vs Halfling

Has anyone been in touch with these players, have the games been scheduled?

Thanks a lot!

For those who watched the video above about Cornwall:  Cornwall is in the South-West of England not the South-East!!

I think it was the license to sell the game in the US, actually owning it isn't illegal.  No doubt US players can buy from Cundco and other European outlets; alternatively I'm happy to order/post any copies anywhere if it means someone gets a copy they want.

Didn't we talk about this the other night Dan - should have checked,I'm sure I've had this happen in the past.

Ah no, cheeky space bar play.  Wonder if other things suffer with this!

Does it happen in 3.3.1?

You'll be marked as a smuggler. Bounty hunters will come looking for you and you'll end up being frozen in carbonite.  We'll call you DanSolo from now on ;)

Do you think it will make a good final for the Welcome Tournament, or do you think we should pry it back?  90minutes is quite a game; and we all know Rosco doesn't wait ;)

I don't think it's off topic at all; it's great to have input from everyone.

I think the largest problem is Carcassonne takes up a lot of table space; I doubt I'd ever be able to play it in the back of a car for example.

I agree the The Carcassonne Travel Set doesn't really help, because it is not compatible with all the expansions people like to use too.

I'd like to see a roll out magnetic version, but maybe digital formats would win outright for limited space; but you can't beat being able to play at a table.

I sometimes travel with work, and I think it would be nice to have a neat box to store a 'travel' deck I could grab and take with me in the off chance a colleague might want a game..... I have to stay hopeful  :(y)
