The German monasteries are a marketing-highlight. It is produced for the CundCo-Shop and Carcassonne-on-tour. The second makes some events like Carcassonne-game-days where you can meet the author klaus-Jürgen Wrede. For this purpose the German Kloester idea is perfect, because they can add any other Kloster or just Cathedral of the town or county they make the events. That was the idea - and so there could be Kloester of other countries, too, if the partners of foreign distributions want them.

To be exact, this replacement/expansion is named "Deutsche Kloester" using the o-Umlaut instead "oe".

Guys, is it normal not to hear anything from Cundo.co after you transfer the payment? Do they usually send you an email to confirm payment or to tell you that your item has shipped, or do you just make the payment and then find the product in your mailbox some time later?

I didn't hear from them (no payment confirmation whatsoever) and found my order in the mail a few days after so you don't have to worry.

Its totally normal. they aren't an high tech store. but is run by just 1 to 3 guys atm.. the order will come, don't worry.

That's exactly what I did, since I have a Rio Grande version of the base game without the River. The River and the Cloisters together come in at just under 10 euros which gives you the cheaper shipping cost

I received the expansion from Cundco on Saturday!! Unfortunately, we had no opportunity to play over the weekend. And now it will have to wait till this weekend or beyond.

The tiles look great though and I can't wait!

It's one sheet with the tiles to be punched and also a manual, but there's no box or anything else to store them in.

Got mine delivered this past Friday - was getting worried since everyone else had said they got theirs already (and I ordered mine on the Monday they were released!)

They also sent me a slew of extras, which was extremely surprising - one of their large bags, meeple stickers, and 'Die Hausen' (I think?), which I hadn't had before now. I ordered three of the Kloster - one for myself, then one for my brother's birthday, and one for my parents.

I'll say this - there's just something that feels good about popping new tiles out of the cut-sheet.

And I really like the artwork. I was afraid it'd be too realistic and not match the game that well, but I'm mistaken - it looks really nice with the other tiles.

I also ordered mine (3 copies) on the very first day of release (April 14), but I think I have to wait longer for my delivery to the US, since I opted for their "Easter Special" (Helios, plus 3 "mystery" games) and it's obviously shipping in a bigger package than the mini-expansions only. I'm excited to see which 3 mystery games I get. Plus I hope they'll add in some extras for me (since I dropped a good amount of money with this order!) Looking forward to playing with the monasteries!

This expansions seems to me somewhat similar to The Abbot (aka Cloister-ville) fanspansion (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=252.0), although I think I like the rules for the official expansion better. I think I might print off the English version of the Die kloester rules and use them as variant rules with the tiles from Cloister-ville.

On the subject off adding/replacing tiles: for a small game (base 72 tiles), I can see it making sense to replace the old cloisters. When adding other expansions, there will inevitably be more cloisters, so they can't all be replaced. I think I would definitely replace some of the original cloisters if playing with these, but it would depend on which other expansions I was playing with.
