Title: Placing a group order for various exp
Post by: What If? on November 12, 2016, 01:19:27 AM
Hello all!

I´m placing an order at a swedish game shop to help a Canadian CC-member. As the snow has fallen here my christmas spirit has arisen so I´m asking if anyone would like anything? If I understand correctly, some items might be hard to get elsewhere.

There are some minis left, the Catapult and such, check the shops here
http://www.spelexperten.com/sallskapsspel/spelserier/carcassonne/
https://www.worldofboardgames.com/webshop-sok.php?searchString=carcassonne&search=S%F6k

I´m not charging anything, just asking for the price and split postage. If anyone would have Tunnels/Cathars/Besiegers/GQ11/Festival/Russian promoes to swap, I´m happy to arrange a deal.

Price examples would be Mini2 for about 5USD.

I will place my order this coming monday evening (nov14) so hurry hurry! People ordering for re-sale are not invited.

Maybe I could help if the order is not too big. I fly to Canada on Dec 15. Let me know.

Thank you for this offer! I might be interested depending on shipping costs - do you have an idea what they might be?

The original order shipping cost is almost free, like 1USD since we split it.

As long as I can send it in an envelope (folded tuckbox or no outer box) it shouldn´t be that bad. Depends on where you live of course, but within Europe it´s about 5 USD until 250 grams, 8USD until 500 grams, 12 USD the kilo. Envelopes I have plenty.

As a sign of me not being carcy enough, I have no idea how much a mini expansion weighs...

Suppose you're not getting anywhere near Gothenburg are you? I got ton of old art style going cheap. :)
There is shipping of course within the country, and it would still be a bargain.

I'm just being smart about it this time around. Selling the full sets to get my money back for a better investment in tiles. ;)

Is it just the base games? Or does this include any expansions?

Base game and expansions. There's like 20 complete base games and a total ov 20 or so expansions, also complete. I&C, P&D, A&M, T&B, Towers are the ones I have 3-7 copies of each for example.

I would greatly appreciate it if you ordered a copy of the Catapult for me from World of Board Games. It's around 363 grams, so that would be be 8 USD plus 11.55 USD (105 krona) = about 20 USD. Is that correct? I would also like a copy of Cult, Siege, and Creativity, but am I correct in understanding that is out of stock? Also, how is payment handled on here?

P.S. Thank you for your patience in answering all of my questions!

Ordering a certain amount from most of these sites gets you free shipping within Sweden, so the original poster might be able to make a batch order with this in mind.

As for payment, we do have a few options, but I'll leave that to the original poster of course. :D
But I do like to share a nifty way we Swedes use to pay, and that is using a service called Swish. Basically it's a PayPal version using your phone number connected to your bank account. Simply send the amount of money you want to the persons mobile phone number. More stores and flee markets are now using this service and it's a great way to pay friends when doing activities together without the hassle of even money.
Also, a more secure option not havint to worrying about carrying too much cash on ya'. :) And best of all, this service is 100% free.

Patience? I work as a teacher for teenagers and then come home to four small kids aged 9 and down, so yes a little bit I guess.

Your example seems to be correct if you don´t want the box because then it becomes a package and postage explodes to 40USD... Sorry about that. This is also within Europe, US even more.

Payment? Either we make a bank transfer, or we do a Godfather and say that I might ask for a favor one day...

You can send The Catapult in full, without opening it, as a letter 500g if you package it correctly and get 98 Swedish Krona as a cost for shipping.
Even though it is actually a parcel, you can still send it as a "letter". As long as width, length and height totaling under 900 mm. 500g (incl. packaging) is then 85 Swedish Krona + 13 SEK for "large letter".

Nope, sorry. They are out of that one.

For those of you who are getting anything, I forgot that I´m playing the Swedish National Championship in pinball next weekend so I won´t be able to pack and re-send until monday 21st. No stress I guess (hope).

The box isn't necessary, so just ship the tiles and other components in whatever way is least expensive and most convenient for you. Would I be able to pay you through PayPal?

In that case, hope it's ok that I hi-jack this, I have an extra set of Catapult with a damaged box. You'll only pay what I paid + shipping, which should be cheaper and more convenient. I'll weigh the components and get back to you on that.

Paul, do you have a list with the things you are selling?

I'll update my own thread later tonight/tomorrow and will continue this there.

That would be great Paul. Let me know what the cost is so I can compare. Is that ok What If? if I wait to see which option would be cheaper for me, yours or Paul's?

I've not been able to locate my spare. Could be tucked in the corner as I've packed everything board gaming to make room for my LEGO sale. This might take some time. Those that have ordered from me knows how long it takes for me to do anything. ;) The price would not differ that much anyway so sticking to the OP thread would be your best bet!

After speaking to Paul on the phone and seeing that it benefits both buyers and seller (Paul) to buy directly from him, I abandon ship and give way to a new captain!

He will sort his collection during this and next week and get back in touch with those of you who have shown interest. I´m sorry if it all got a bit messy, but remember it is all done in good faith. I trust you can wait an extra week?

Thanks for the call. It was a delight talking to a fellow Swede about Carcassonne! Last time I did that was during GothCon held this year. :)

I've already dug up half the collection, see what is already sorted and what is not and hope to have a decent list by the end of the week.
