New "play online" server is already running for two days. It should mean no longer corrupted game backups on server side when Undo was used during game.  Manifested  as "Message ... hasn't been handled by ... phase" error when user reconnects and resume game.

There is bug in current play server. Once new one ready and tested this should be no issue.

6
When I hit "Connect", it always just goes back to the main menu screen, after a few seconds of saying "Connecting..." I've tried a few different nicknames.

Hopefully I know a reason. At least I guess. Updated and sorry for inconvenince.

Hopefully it now handle properly dead connection and make using it less annoying.
Let me know if you found any issue.

Also it released my hands to implement new cool stuff.

Could you try version patched for Java 8? I don't have Java 8 here.

I have confirmation, that repacked version works with Java 8. Try it. (For newer runtime you can stay with 4.3.1)

rfielder: what Java version you are using? It seems there is change in java std lib API causing troubles when source is compiled with recent java but run with Java 8.
I get reports with error java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: java.nio.ByteBuffer.limit(I)Ljava/nio/ByteBuffer, and found same issue reported eg there https://github.com/apache/felix/pull/114

firewall? port settings? No change was made about connection or server code.

Downloaded and installed 4.3.1 on two computers.

On both, it will not start a new game, and the Online play just sits there "Connecting" and nothing ever happens.

tracked as https://github.com/farin/JCloisterZone/issues/276

I am going to investigate it and fix in next release.
(Hills and sheeps implementation are in prgress, next release should be out in 3 weeks)

New tiles is the smallest problem.
They are unofficially here
http://www.jcloisterzone.com/plugins/newart.jar
and can be already used with current version.

So it's more about just adding new expansion.
It would be probabably good idea backport new tiles to v1.0 tiles if used with abbot.

Hi guys

it's complicated with priorities now. Second child, involved in startup project ...
On the other hand, issues with computer player is annoying.

As far as know almost all bug reports I received by email was this kind. So I would be nice fix this.

it's possible that AI can play unsupported expansion somehow. Even it can eg place abbot (but now sure if it really do], because it simply tries to evaluate every move and choose best position) But if it not here it means it is completely untested (it can be slow, cause crashed etc. and I would like to avoid it)

It would be nice spent some time with AI, it's currently less maintained part of code. But AI is hard and return of spent time unsure.
I have some other points in short time list, than we will see.
