I've never liked the Ctrl-Z function in JCloisterzone, it has caused many issues like this.

Thanks for checking it, please take a note if anyone performs a Ctrl+Z so scores can be adjusted if needed!

First game in new group stage took place between JoeSesquipedalian and Adrornalin. Short summary: I got a lot tiles I needed, Joe didnt. It was ridiculous. That made it 252:178 for me. I also had the chance to trap two of his meeples right after the beginning and to trap his double meeple before its jump onto one farm. Also the M&W tiles mostly worked well for me. The german monasteries appeared very soon (the 25pts) and very late in the game, but were not really game-changing in the end. A game-changer maybe would have been a connection of the two big farms, means a point reduction on my side. But as Joe had only one meeple left and I had many, I made it again 2:1 on the big farm with my very last tile. One cathedral and the CCCC from the base game were dropped out due to no possible placement. Wind Roses bug did not affect our game, we looked twice before placing. It was a very good and enjoyable game. Good luck Joe with your next group games!

wow, that's 2 really big farms.  The bible-belt is good as well.  I was worried when picking Monasteries that one player may get a significant advantage, but it looks like the Cathedrals and Mage counter balance these quite well.

It's hard to say if the score difference is big or not at this stage; hopefully we'll know after a few more games!

Well done both, I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Round 2 Match:  daliles  :violet-meeple:  vs. JoeSesquipedalian :green-meeple:

Final Score:
JoeSesquipedalian   260 :green-meeple:
daliles                    134 :violet-meeple:

We settled down for Round 2 match.  It became obvious early on that daliles was distracted when he placed a farmer erroneously, which quickly got surrounded by roads.  Daliles was lucky enough to draw 5 of the 6 German Monasteries. However, due to a shortage of meeples he was not able to capitalize on this luck.  I snuck onto (stole) daliles' large city with the Mage using my Mega-meeple which gave me a commanding lead.  Daliles' shortage of meeples hampered his attempts to win the farm battle.  Thank you daliles for the fun game and have fun at GenCon!!

Wow this looks like a really hectic game.  I had a similar problem placing a meeple during the last Tower tournament, I double clicked by mistake.  Best of fun at Gencon.  By the way, make sure you all take part in our Gencant solo contest, that is if you're not attending Gencon :)

WhatIf? and I had our 2nd round match the other night.  I emerged victorious after successfully preventing WhatIf? from completing a very large cathedral city.  The battle for the farms was constant throughout the game.  I received all of the German Monasteries but I was only able to place 3.  Due to the shape of our final layout, the largest German Monastery only scored 18... still a considerable advantage.  I got a lot of the tiles that I needed which also helped quite a bit.  Overall it was a very good match.  Thanks for playing Whatif?!!!  I'm looking forward to next round.

Joe Sesquipedalian 172  :yellow-meeple:
WhatIf                   113  :green-meeple:

Looks like those monasteries made a big difference in this game.  Those incomplete cathedrals are costly!

Thanks for playing you games!

Here is the next match in round 2: WhatIf had the better start, made some quick points, got two monasteries, and my tiles felt useless in the beginning. Then I won the smaller cathedral city (24pts, with magician). After a huge battle, I got the majority with 5:4 in the big cathedral city and I luckily draw the missing CCCC tile and won this city also (73pts, again with magician). Furthermore I was able to occupy two rather big farms first. As one can see, luck was on my side. WhatIf did everything possible to take over the farms and searching for points, but as his double meeple was trapped and only one other meeple was available, the final decision seemed to be made.

Final score:
WhatIf 180 - 241 Adrornalin

Thanks for that intense and interesting game and better luck in the ongoing Tournament!

I've got alerts set up for PM's which is what alerted my.  Had been checking forum intermittently.  rules read now and messages sent though.   Turns out its only Wind Rose I've not played before.  Inns and Cathedrals I know well.  Others I know i've played once before but not any tactics for them.  I'm not usually a huge fan on cloisters so should be interesting.

Two great games today to finish our second round of the tourney.

Whatif 277
daliles 221

And earlier,
Adrornalin won handily over daliles.
I cannot remember the score but it was well over one hundred.

So, if there is a 3rd round, everyone wants to wipe the floor with daliles.  :-\
