Winter Carcassonne Mastermind Tournament
« on: January 02, 2016, 09:13:19 AM »
It kicks off in the next few days this new edition of the tournament, unfortunately for low number of participants are obliged to make a challenge to the group.
During each game, the pair of competitors will try to do the least amount of predictions to be able to get to the solution, at the end of every game the person who added the fewest predictions made will be declared the winner, will be considered forecasts of the team.

The rules are the same as this topic apart from a few minor differences:

Attached to the match post will insert a password protected zip archive, containing a sequence of four tiles in the basic game winter edition, they will be positioned according to the normal rules of placement. Road against roads, city against city, fields against fields.

A player will be able to post his prediction to be made alternately with his challenger, trying to guess the exact order of the tiles and their correct orientation.
All posts will be edited by a moderator.  The edit will add colored meeple under the prediction, they will be the tips to figure out the exact sequence.
Each tile can be used only once.
Only one tile with the animals can be used in optional manner.
Each meeple is a clue, the meeple corresponds to one tile and the color will indicate what is correct and what is incorrect.
The order of the meeple do not correlate with the order of the tiles!
Thus, The first clue can be referred to any one of the 4 tiles. The same for the remaining three clues.

:red-meeple:: One of the Tiles is wrong.
:blue-meeple:: One of the Tiles is correct, but is oriented and positioned incorrectly.
:black1-meeple:: One of the Tiles is correct exact, oriented correctly, but in the wrong position.
:yellow-meeple:: One of the Tiles is correct, oriented incorrectly, but in the correct position.
:green-meeple:: One of the Tile correct, oriented in an exact manner, in exact position.

You can use the images on this link to make your predictions, using this code: [ img ]image link[ /img] (remove the spaces before img and /img).

His heart knows only virtue.
His blade defends the helpless.
His might upholds the weak.
His word speaks only truth.
His wrath undoes the wicked.

Thanks for organising this again Quevy :gray-meeple:. However, I think it would make more sense to consider the pairs as teams. Together they try to guess the correct sequence of tiles (as well as their orientations). So instead of "vs" I'd use "+". The team with the lowest number of guesses would then be the winning team, the person with — on average — the lowest number of guesses, based on the teams he/she was in, would be the winner of the tournament. Does that make sense? :))

Hi quevy,
does this mean that there is only one tile with animals in the row of the 4 tiles in suggestion ?

example:
tile standard - tile standard - tile animal - tile standard

Let me try again:

There are two rules:
Quote
Each tile can be used only once.
Only one tile with the animals can be used in optional manner.

My question is, Are you distinguishing between these tiles?
Quote

They are the same tile, but one has animals on it.

If so, can a solution have BOTH of these tiles in it?

They are two different tiles, the same as conformation, but different, can be used simultaneously.
