Those Russians look less rounded off at the edges then I'm used to when seeing these. Or is it just a matter of perception?

They're more rounded in real life for sure. The corner radius is between 2 & 3x the 'normal' tiles.
Whatever it is, it's probably in the post from Germany...

I've just received my order from Spielmaterial. I've bought Princess and Dragon just before it goes out of stock. (A few days ago, I've seen Mini 5 that I miss but when I was ready to order, it was out !), a black ghost and some meeple to score King and Robber Baron.

I rather suddenly received in the mail today a large package that just said "game" on the customs slip. I was quite confused and my partner was probably justifiably annoyed at me for apparently purchasing a game without telling her (again). I had an inkling what it could be, but I hadn't received an email about my Scoville game in months and I felt that there was still another month until I received it, so here I was, scratching my head and getting angry glances from stage left. Sure enough, it was that game, but just the base game, not the expansion. Oddly, the game looked so colourful and awesome that she let her anger drop a bit, especially when she realised that I paid for this last August as my bonus for selling 200 copies of my book. Gotta love the Kickstarter delay. At this point I remembered vaguely that the base game and expansion were being shipped separately, with the latter coming in April. I had simply forgot that the base game was supposed to be delivered earlier.

Long story short, I got the base game, it looks awesome, and the partner is not nearly as angry as she initially was, especially after hearing how fun the game sounds. Win!

I got my Mayflower Carcassonne a few days ago that I ordered from BGG.com. Love the tiles. :)

Mine just arrived as well, I won't bother adding pictures as lots of us will be getting them.

Left is new artwork, right old?

I actually think it's the other way round! Left (with the houses) is the old art, right is the new art. I had to compare them to the other tiles in the games to be sure.

It seems to me these can be pretty much combined in an old artwork game. Blasphemy, I know.

Left with the houses is Doris Matthäus's design.  The Right with no houses Anne Pätzke's.

No Post Today :(
