Title: Help with Tower (can you take man off of castle?)

New Carcassonner here (I love this game already).

Here is my question:
- If there is a lord on a castle, and a tower reaches one of the two tiles that make up the castle, then can the lord be removed from the castle?
- Also, which of the two tiles (that make up the castle) does the lord actually reside on?  My tower reaches one of the two tiles, but not the other, thus the confusion.

Hi there and welcome!

To quote annotation 178 for the S-CAR v7.0.pdf which contains all the official rules and variants of them in one big file:

178 Followers in castles are safe from towers, the dragon and the plague.

Also, in this file it is mentioned (can't remember where) that a follower on a castle does not reside on any tile, rather it's in between.
