Galaxy of Trian is being kickstarted again.  I found some old thread where Franks mentioned owning an original copy.   I don't know if I want to spend $100 or triangular Carcassonne in space, but it does look interesting.   If you read the comments, a lot of previous backers are upset about the high cost of the "upgrade" package. 

Radho seems to think this game is so much better than Carcassonne that he doesn't need to play Carcassonne ever again.  Tom from Dice Tower says this game is missing "something" and is rather aggressive.  Rahdo usually doesn't like aggressive games, so I really don't know what to think.

We are definitely backing Sailing Toward Osiris.  We play tested it at UnPub and absolutely loved it.  I don't know if I want the regular or deluxe copy.

I think the bits look great.  My issue and the same issue I have with Carcassonne Star Wars is that they are 2 dimensional games in 3 dimensional space.

Another one on the wall of shame ... 

I got the 1st Kickstarter partially because of the tile laying aspect and also because it take that aspect into another level with Area Control / Area Influence. It looks like a neat large-scope Space game.

I'm in for the upgrade at a reasonable $20.

Haven't got it to the table. I guess I'm already in for the base game so might as well kick in another $20 for the upgrades and from what I understand is a new (and improved??) rule set. I have seen the video in ages but you mentioned Rhado's runthrough, that's probably the best bet to see if its for you. I do think the price point on the new Kickstarter is quite good for how much is in the box. Especially the 72 hours early bird perk for the metal coins!
