The Ranch expansion is set to hit KS in late May.

Thankfully for jungleboy, only games (not expansions) are part of his austerity measures so Saloon Tycoon won't suffer.

This time I can't say I see the appeal of Brass. It looks a littlr heavy for our table (excuse the pun) or too slow. There's no way my wife would play it. I've got it saved and might watch the video before it endss.

Having listened to Sean Bean sell me the game, I couldn't get more than 30 seconds into the gameplay video after the american presenters butchered: 'Birmingham' and 'Lancashire'....I'm out!

In fairness, UK placenames can be a disaster to pronounce sometimes. And they have their own Birmingham in Alabama - home of the Birmingham (Black) Barons baseball team, which Willie Mays and Michael Jordan both played for - which they pronounce differently (i.e. pronouncing the h).

Meanwhile I'm having trouble holding off on Brass.

As for the Saloon Tycoon expansion, I'm out. I still have yet to play the base game, even though I think it looks cool and I'm glad I got it, and it comes with a bunch of mini-expansions anyway.

I've changed my mind again and I think I'm out on Brass after all. It's heavier and longer than any game I own and I really was just seduced by the production quality. But that's probably not a good reason to buy a game.

Besides, you should avoid any game that confuses Yorkshire with Lancashire; that's a thematic faux-pas if there there was one!

Yeah I should probably also have another think about Hannibal too. But the Second Punic War is my favourite historical war and the game is supposed to be amazingly historical and thematic. Again, that's probably not a great reason to get a game. Sigh.

It's a pretty good reason, but it's a double edged sword. You'll say things like "Scipio would never has sent his army against XXXX" or "The revolt didn't happen until 5 years later" or "Elephants aren't even afraid of mice". But think of the games you could back instead!

To celebrate breaking the $1,000,000 threashold, we've decided to include a free stretch goal to say thank you!

In every copy of Lancashire, we will now also include:

The 2 player community variant custom map.
While the 2017 Roxley rules will be featured as the default rules in the game, we will also feature the rules related to the classic edition of Brass for when you are feeling nostalgic!
Because Birmingham is designed from the ground up to work well with 2 players, there is no need for a second map. So, in every copy of Birmingham, we will also include something on the back of the board. Some have suggested a day version of the map, others have suggested featuring just the map. We will let you know what that is in a future update!
