Looks interesting!

I'm giving Too Many Bones some serious consideration too. I love a dice rolling game and an RPG, but coop is usually weak and I'm not sure there are enough events for random replay.  The gameplay runthroughs are a little short too. I get the feeling it will be punishing later on!

How did I not know about this!

OMG. I absolutely HATE having cables from chargers lying around everywhere, so I'm definitely up for a solution like this. But I wish the box was made of their usual wood, which I think is much classier than the white stuff. But I guess the white stuff is cheaper.

Don't underestimate the quality of the workmanship that goes into all of Basically Wooden's products.

Don't overestimate my DIY skills either. I almost smashed the side gate to pieces with a hammer once, because I got so angry at my inability to put a sliding bolt on it. And don't even get me started on the collapsible washing line spike. Not good times. :-[

BW are professionals and from them I can only expect perfection but nevertheless this project still seems simple enough to be done at home with a respectable quality.
From what you're telling us I'd say that your problem is lack of proper tools and a noisy wife. Whenever I start doing grim faces while DIY'ing my wife knows not to get near and suggestions are absolutely forbidden.

Hmmm - given the heat output from all of the wall warts is going to be trapped in the box, there could be scope for early failures of said wall warts because they're working in elevated temperatures... I'm sure BW are all over it though.
Whatever it is, it's probably in the post from Germany...

Changing a light bulb is about as DIY as I get.

On a more serious note, I always prefer 'professional-level' products and services of any kind. If I have the ability to do that myself, then great, but if not (such as in this case), I'd much rather pay for a professional box than make a crappy one myself.

Meanwhile, is there a way on the KS iOS app to see your starred projects without searching for them individually?

The lazy gamer is a great idea, but unfortunately the shipping costs make it too expensive, especially outside North America. It's a beautifully crafted rotating tabletop that you can use to play games on and always be able to rotate the table if you need to.

It might be worth suggesting this idea to Basically Wooden too.

Two Roman-themed games that are on my 'to buy' list are having new editions published through Kickstarter this year, though neither campaign has begun yet.

The second is Colosseum. The original 2007 edition looks like it has quite cool artwork to begin with, so some people on BGG are questioning the point of making a new edition. And the KS campaign has already been delayed, so we'll have to wait and see what happens here.

The emperor's edition of Colosseum is coming to Kickstarter on March 22nd. More info on TMG's Facebook page.

Steam Court is basically a fancy version of the game called President/Asshole/Scum etc that you play with a regular deck of cards (and that we used to play at university). It takes this basic game that's super easy to teach and play and adds a cool theme, great artwork and a few other cool things (such as special powers for each player, special cards etc). Plus there's a really beautiful wooden box that you can pledge extra for.

So I'll have a think about this one too.

I decided to back this.

I am torn.  It looks really well done, but most of the reviews say you need 4 to 10 players.  On most nights we play with 3.  I also wish there was more than just cogs on the playing cards.

I'm happy with the cogs myself, but now that you mention it, it's true that they could have done some more here (maybe it's one of the unrevealed stretch goals?).

Like the card game it's based on, it's true that 4+ is better. But it's also the kind of game you could bring to a non-game night or suggest for something to do after dinner at a dinner party, because it's super easy to teach and fun. So I think there would be more opportunities to play with 4+ beyond the typical games night.
