No, sorry it probably sounded like that when I mentioned the watermark!  ;D

I laid out all of the tiles and according to the tile list on the back I am missing 9 of the tiles.

What was most odd is that there is around 17 tiles from non-watermarked 'the expansion' (the Dutch version of Inns + cathedrals and the River) plus the tile bag - all things that shouldn't be there.

I managed to get 1/3 of my money back and made a complaint to alert the site incase of future scams.

...so anyway - I have an almost complete Wheel of Fortune! :P

After perusing marktplaats.nl, I managed to nab a new and sealed Dutch WoF in the end!

It was very tempting to get the Big Box, but it was only the language-free WoF starter tile + River II swaying me! I will  try to gain a replacement International piece, however the worst case is that I create then print out a transparent adhesive sheet with language free iconography on it and overlay it. Failing that, I'll just have to learn some Dutch  ;D

So hopefully I'll post in the 'What the Postman brought me' thread in the next week or two with WoF. I ordered another Broken Token insert as well so all my collection, sans unwieldy things like the tile tower, can fit in two reasonable sized boxes!
I can help you with the dutch if you are stuck with it ;)

That's very kind, though unfortunately it seems my 'new' WoF is not so as I appear to be missing 9 watermarked Wheel of Fortune tokens - how annoying :(

I guess that's the chance you take on Marktplaats.nl!

It's a very important year for Carcassonne, so I think there will be more added to this list in September, but so far the announcements have been for:

The new around-the-world spin off:  The Amazonas.
A new mini expansion : The watch tower

The new star wars expansions and Abbey and Mayor are already available.
Speculation there will also be:  A new Big Box for the new artwork.  The Japanese monasteries.
You'll miss the gathering on Thursday night unfortunately.
No doubt there will be a gift box with a spiel tile like the previous 2 years.

I don't think I've seen the answer here but I asked Andreas Kramer at Cundco what edition of Carcassonne The Watchtower mini-expansions will be for.

'Hello Simon,

this will be the new 2nd edition.

best regards
Andreas Kramer
Carcassonne & Co GmbH '

I think it's fair to say that we have most likely come to the end of the line of Carcassonne 1st edition content!

Had a nice haul the past week, so I thought I'd post it on here :)

The highlights being the Dutch Wof which I managed to get quite cheaply and a Broken Token insert - very pleased with those. Now I have one full base game with BT insert and the WoF with BT insert. I'll have to follow up in the storage thread how my setup looks  ^-^

Also in the week's haul Mr Postman delivered the one-piece Count of Carc tile and the two bags from Cundco (the small one was for WoF tiles, however the WoF seller gave me a brand new base game bag too!), as well as Keyflower Keyceleste mini expansion and the silly but fun Alvin/Dexter Ticket to Ride expansion.

I've not seen it either - good find!

I wonder, Abbot gardens aside (assuming that they'll be some), if there'll be much change with the tiles.

Ah, thought I was onto a winner there - ordered an English copy of WoF from a Danish store (around £26) though it turns out they are now out of stock!

I've come to the conclusion to hold off from the Big Box 5 version until I completely run out of options because I want to be able to stick another Broken Token organiser in a base game-sized box plus I don't have a lot of spare time selling of duplicate expansions.

Obviously with that in mind, the task has become quite hard!  :))

Hi Erreth,

I have found WoF in Denmark for £22.00 plus postage.  So I'll go for this cheaper option.  Hope you find a US buyer and thanks for the offer.

@Halfling

Hey Halfling, was this from a Danish online store? If so which one?

I appreciate the effort you went to, Big Boss - thank you (and here's a merit!) :)

Other Games / Re: Top ten games!
« on: August 13, 2016, 07:37:48 PM »
Righty, I must have missed this thread - so here's my top ten:

1. Agricola- wife and I love this.
2. Carcassonne - we play this the most often (obviously!), so it jumps around my top ten all the time.
3. Suburbia - tile-based city planning, great fun.
4. Keyflower - more tile-based games. There's a pattern here :)
5. Pandemic - our great non-Christmas-based Christmas game!
6. Splendor - not as deep as lots on the list, however it's short, easy to teach, and all my family love to play it!
7. Imperial Settlers - one of the newest games I own, however we love it. Great for two players.
8. Ticket to Ride Europe - we like to throw in the Alvin and Dexter if we want a bit of meanness, or use the UK/PA expansion for more depth.
9. Village - I find this really hard to teach, though wife and I love this game.
10. Castles of Burgundy - the art is a bit dry, however we love how mechanically-smart everything flows.

I put my name down in interest of the 2 new Russian tiles, however as I can't make it to the event I would very much like to take you up on the offer of picking the tiles up for us, danisthirty, if possible!

Nevermind, not so long ago I had seen an English copy for a normal price in a webshop. Wanted to send you the link but it is now gone.  :(

Ah never mind - I appreciate the thought anyway!

If you see ...... The Catapult......(ugh!) around too, let me know - I (unfortunately) need that too for my collection is missing that expansion  :))

In English?

Doesn't have to be, however I'd probably have to draw the line at the Russian version as the rounded edges to the tiles would proably set off some petty OCD as they would clash with my original tiles!

Get BB5 from Germany. It wont be around much longer and you get the River variant with vinyards.  All the tiles and the scoretrack can fit inside a tilebag from cundco. So you can ditch the box if you dont have space.  Or you can take the insert out and keep all your games in there!

This is true - those BB5s will be gone soon! Ideally I'd have a nice, neat WoF box, so I could fit a Broken Token insert in it (just got one for my base game and it's rather good!) and stick those tiles plus a few promos in..... however I guess when it comes do to the £30-44 of the BB5 with WoF or the silly prices for WoF on it's own, BB5 looks like a better prospect. Ditching the box and sticking the contents in a bag is definitely an option!

Hi all,

I'm nearing the end of my completion - apart from a few elusive items I can just about live without, like The Cathars, I am just after Wheel of Fortune!

So, I'm looking out for a sealed version, preferably located in Europe/UK (to avoid the rather large shipping charges from North Amerca - I'm UK-based).

Plan B is to perhaps buy a Big Box however that means I would have to make room for that beast, plus I would have to sell duplicate expansions!
