Carcassonne II - Inns and Cathedrals
« on: July 01, 2015, 10:34:18 AM »
at CarcF the members have found the first look at the box for the expansion Inns and Cathedrals.

the logo is from MindOK - license partner from HiG for the Czech and Polish.

Here comes the link...

Carcassonne Gra Planszowa at facebook

And the dumb-looking, highly Romanticised art continues on the boxes. Woo. Pass.

I'm happy about that, I finished the collection, or need something new to buy or go through withdrawal :)
A knight is sworn to valour.
His heart knows only virtue.
His blade defends the helpless.
His might upholds the weak.
His word speaks only truth.
His wrath undoes the wicked.

Well at least this confirms plans for the game I suppose…I think I'm actually now most disappointed that we have to sit through re releases of all the previous expansions before we are likely to get anything new (complete assumption on my part mind).

I'm certainly not going to rebuy everything again in the new art style. When something new comes out I'll perhaps consider it. But I wouldn't consider classic expansions part of the new style really. At least not for my personal collection.

I guess I need to quickly complete my collection before the proper artwork becomes unavailable.

Yes, this is pink.

It saddens me that the old addons have new graphics, more hoping for new additions to the old graphics. It also means that additives such as tunnel, crop circles I and others will not be issued with the old graphics :(. Even sadder is that it is a rehash chop :/.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here and come right out and say that I actually quite like the look of the new/ old/ re-released expansions. Since I own the new art version of the base game anyway I'll probably end up buying these at some point...  :o

Also, I've never liked the grey meeples anyway.  :gray-meeple: :(n)

What do you buy the Carcassonne-fan who has everything....

CarcassonneII plus expansions :(y)

I'm just glad, it looks like they've finally decided to make a decision.

Hmmm, on one hand it's great that they have made a decision now and are sticking this direction, but on the other hand I'm a little disappointed at the mixed signals last year - I invested in the now old edition with Hills and Sheep in the same year a new edition pops out.

Will there be any more catering to the old edition or will we need to eventually 'upgrade' to Carcassonne II if completely new expanions (with the new art only) appear the horizon?

I'm not grumbling though, as I'm sure I will end up buying an inevitable Big Box if new edition-only expansions/new art versions of past promos appear!

As for the pink meeples, I'm all for them - they seem more exciting than dull grey :D

Hopefully, there will be new fan expansions with the old style. I think that's easier to design. I also like many fan expansions, because they are my favorites to play with.
