The Marketplace / Re: Possibly selling..
« on: September 25, 2016, 01:59:10 AM »
Thanks guys.

The only other folks I play with are my brother and his family, and my folks. They both have huge collections like mine, so.. :) It's just impossible to play them without a second person..!

I'd LIKE to sell it as a set. Mainly because like I mentioned, all the tiles are mixed together save for the fan-extensions and non-game tiles. (We used to play with ALL the tiles - even the ones like the Catapault - even if we weren't using the rules. We'd just treat those tiles as 'normal' non-special tiles.)

Hey all.

I've been quiet on the forms for the last few months because my wife of ten years and I went our separate ways, unfortunately. (Now, on the good side, it was amicable, so no hard feelings. Just sad!)

Anyways, since I can't rightfully play Carc all alone, I was thinking about seeing if anyone here wanted my collection.

I pretty much have everything as of the beginning of this year (2016) -
Main Game (German edition)
All full expansions (Inns, Traders, Princess, Tower, Abbey, Count King Cult (German edition), Catapult, Bridges, Sheep)
Mini Expansions (River, GQ11, Plague, Festival, School, Windroses (all 4 dirs), Besiegers, Kloster)
All six of the 2012 Minis - with the corn circles tiles that came with.
Some fan-printed tiles of some random fan expansions.

Then have a lot of meeples, including the other colors, and a large dark wooden box to hold them all in.
The downside? Most of the tiles are mixed together, not kept separate by addon. (I know some of you like to keep them all in their separate boxes..)

I don't know what to ask for it all, will have to look around. If interested, send me a message, deop me a PM what have you, and I can get pics.

Anything Else / Re: Other Hobbies than board games
« on: March 10, 2016, 07:32:33 AM »
Interesting to see what everyone else does..

I have two other 'main' hobbies..
First, games - but in a more commercial style. This image is of the games I'm working on - there are three more that are finished and fully operational behind where I'm standing to take the picture:

And then, in my not-so-free-time, I'm a signal maintainer and locomoitive engineer for a railroad (railway, for those across the pond..). This is a shot of a new grade crossing (level crossing for you guys, again, across the pond..) being installed that I had to manage:

Because of these, I don't play Carcassonne nearly as much as I should - mainly because we have SO MANY TILES now that.. well, a game can last 4+ hours.. and I don't have a sit of 4+ hours at a time. :D

My $.02, really late!

I have Gold Rush, and the Sheriff, and IMHO, I like it.

The different mechanics of taking mine tokens, and moving tents DOES slow the game down some. (If this were like the original Carcassone, with all those expansions, a game would take FOREVER. But with just the game and one mini-expansion, it's not too long.)

The scoring of 'farmer' (ranchers) fields is neat, by not counting cities, but by objects in the fields (Indian teepees, wild horses). The art is also neat and very Carcassonne-like, but with a western feel to it. Moving your tent around is a rather neat mechanic - allowing you to pre-emptively steal from other players.

The single city tiles make us laugh each time though, as often you'll get something like 'Nashville' right next to 'Santa Fe'.. Who knew Tennessee and New Mexico were that close?! (Not to mention I'd like to make other tiles with city names, like 'Boise City', 'Witchita Falls', 'Amarillo', etc.. However, since the backs are different, I can't use blank Carc tiles..! :( )

The Sheriff expansion adds some neat little things as well - changing scoring for some items, and adding graves ("Boot Hill"!).

ufff I'd really like to have a tile with the autograph...  :'(
Me too. But the problem is.. I'd want to play it. And then that risks damaging the autograph! Conundrums! :)

It may also be worth specifically requesting that people pay you using the "Friends and Family" option rather than the "Goods and Services" option, otherwise you will end up paying the PayPal fee and won't get the full amount of money.
Keep in mind - PayPal is cracking down on this, and closing/imposing fees on accounts that are doing this 'excessively'.  Four of my artist friends that take commissions have had fees of $100 imposed on them for breaking the rule. :(

999 games' version also has the double watermark :P , Funny we missed that..

Somehow miss that, yet the missing watermark on the Sheep & Hills was *immediately* spotted. :)

Don't forget..

A 'handful' is usually five. 'Some' can mean between 3 and 7 but is relative, like CK brings up.

I'm forgetting some, too. :D

For me, it's been two. I got them mainly just to have the tiles.  :))

The Plague and
Catapault

Everything else we've played the rules with, at least once. :)

Good luck. :) I haven't done anything with mine yet - mainly because I'm just lazy and hadn't bothered printing anything out yet. :)
