My post at CarcF:
Here comes some news which I like to report to the community at CarcC, but the forum is still not working.
Now CarcC is working again...

Udo Schmitz (Carcassonne-on-Tour) sent an e-mail to Maik and me:
(free interpretation of that e-mail)
Quote
Maik (maik63de - Admin CarcF and member at CarcC) and I (moderator at CarcF and CarcC) - we both get an officially invitation from: HIG, Klaus-Juergen Wrede and Udo Schmitz to the exhibition "Hobby and Spiel" in Leipzig at 04.10.2013.
We will be guests for the award of the best graphic designed game this year - "Graf Ludo" (one could be "Bruegge").
Talk with all the graphic artists and authors and the publishers, having lunchtime with Klaus-Juergen Wrede and all the others, walk around through the halls of the exhibition, and the evening with dinner in the special glass hall.

Today I called with HiG - Moritz Brunnhofer and also I called with Udo Schmitz:
I will get the invitation in my letter box in the next days...

I am back from my trip to Leipzig.
It was a great day that I and Maik have had.

We talked with Moritz Brunnhofer, Georg Wild, Klaus-Juergen Wrede, Udo Schmitz.

They all send to the community of Carcassonne the best wishes and greetings to you all.
They are really happy that they have a great fan-base of Carcassonne.

A short review from the fair "modell-hobby-spiel" in Leipzig:

Maik and I traveled by train to the fair.
We arrived at 10:20 am and we decided not to go first in the exhibition halls, because at 11:00 am was starting the prize of "Graf Ludo".

We were standing in a corridor when the HiG team arrived. So we had some minutes to talk with Moritz, Gerorg and Jasmin before the special event starts.
One of the points were the Mueller-Box...  ;D

From 11:00 am to 12:30 pm was the "Graf Ludo". After that we had a Champagne reception with the Graf-Ludo team and all the publishers, authors and graphic artists.

The halls of the exhibition "modell-hobby-spiel" in Leipzig.

Maik and I went through the halls - some examples:
In hall 3 there were models for railway and in hall 5 models for aircraft.
In hall 2 there were the board games like Carcassonne and many ohter materials for hobbies (I think that such things are more interesting for women).

Here and there we came back to the booth from HiG / Carcassonne-on-Tour to talk with Udo, Moritz, Klaus-Juergen and the rest of the team.

Interesting is, that Georg Wild asked me about the rule for the fairy...  ;D
He was a little bit confused and was thinking - oh do we have to change the clarification of the rule again? I told him, that is all fine, we cleared that problem perfectly last year and the CAR has
the result included. He was very happy to hear my opinion in this case...  ;)

at 4:00 pm we had our private meeting with Klaus-Juergen and Udo.
We went into the backstage area in a restaurant.

There was Moritz too, but first he was testing new games with some other people.

We talked about the Wind Roses action and about the forums and the community of Carcassonne.
Udo and Klaus-Juergen told us, that they really like the Campaign from Whaleyland.
They tested the Campaign on the North Sea Tour from Carcassonne-on-Tour.
We talked about Spiel 2013 and the members meeting and the small surprisings...
And our Whiteboard at the Spiel 2013 - there we can write some messages to the members and information when the members will meet each other...
Also we talked about the Fan-Expansions - here the birthday expansion for Klaus-Juergen which we are creating at CarcF.
Then we talked about the official Fan-Meeting for example Burg Konradsheim (24.11.2013).
Klaus-Juergen asked if Scott was happy when he reached the surprisings from him.
And then Klaus-Juergen signed again some autograph cards....

Klaus-Juergen had his next officially date in the halls, so he went back to the halls.
---------------------
Then we three (Maik, Udo and I) talked a bit with Moritz Brunnhofer.
The big box of Carcassonne-Suedsee is really heavy. Moritz told me that he was really happy when he has finished that work some days before.
We talked about some special ebay traders and about the official Fan-Meetings and about our Carcassonne-Shoppe from Carcatronn.
Yes we talked also about the work from both forums and how they work together.

Then we all went back to the halls.
Maik took some photos from the Carcassonne-South Sea and we talked here and there with the HiG / Carcassonne-on-Tour-Team and the day of the exhibitions was finished.

I think to talk in private with the BigOnes who created this beautiful game is really important.

But yes we are looking here and there and I bought some creative articles (typical woman like hobbies).  ;D

I think your talking with the Big Ones is not only important but rather awesome!

Your comment about "typical woman like hobbies" has got me thinking.

Can playing board games be more of a male or female type hobby/passion/etc?

Does anyone know what the breakdown of males/females on this site, CarcF and BGG?

I'm hoping it should be fairly equal as so many people with partners play games with them too.

Thanks!

PS - This question might need to become it's own topic?

kettlefish - thank you for the awesome report. It is so important that you have direct contacts with the Big Ones there. I'm glad to see that they have maintained their interest in this fun game and I'm really looking forward to the future of it.

Did you see any of the Carcassonne World Tournament? I wonder if our guy who won at GenCon was there?
Do you know who won the tournament?
I just drew the perfect tile for my MonKnighThieFarmer!
