Wow! This is really awesome!
As fun as it is to do them yourself thanks to members here on the forum (found in the Crafter's Guild section), it's a nice touch by the company itself to make them.

Price may be a liiiitle high, but not that much really. 5 big boxes and 10 small.
World record holder for a single game of Carcassonne using 10 007 tiles!

Good stuff. Thanks for the link!

How many tiles can fit in the larger one (just tiles)? It says 12 and more plus meeples but precisely?

This image you can see the difference and it seems it can hold 18 tiles.

I think you are right. Height of small box is 31mm for 12 tiles and height of larger box is 47mm which would allow to store 6 more tiles.

Many of my Carcassonne sets are pretty old (I have the 2000 edition of the base game with the old 70-point scoreboard, and bought most of my expansions back when they were recently released), so this may or may not apply for others...

On average my tiles are very nearly 1/12 inch thick, or about 2.12 mm. To estimate the inside dimensions I would subtract 2mm from the published measurements (since we know the tiles are 45 mm square). Thus I would estimate the tuck box capacities as follows:
  • Small — 47x47x31 — est. inside 45x45x29 — est. max. tiles 13.7 (so with some sets, you might fit 14)
  • Large — 47x47x47 — est. inside 45x45x45 — est. max. tiles 21.2
In most cases the extra few tiles don't gain you much, since most sets are built around multiples of 6 ... but anyway there are the capacities, as best as I can predict them.
My stuff: The Caverns of Carcassonne | Wheel of Fortune versions | True North (wind roses) | Icon facelifts | Converting CII to CI | Signposts & the Château | The Vault | Riverboats & the Whirlpool | trade list

I know they only just came out with these, but I would like to see them expand the variety so that we can fit a bigger expansion into a single box and a base game into a single or two boxes as well.

I removed your double forum post, as requested, Just a Bill.

I like the idea for these boxes, but I agree with oosie that they are quite inflexible in design. I would prefer they release a special set that can hold all the tiles from Expansions 1-10 in separate, themed boxes. That would be really nice. Obviously these little boxes can work for the promos and whatnot, but the full expansions should get special boxes.

Saw that; thank you (and sorry my pre-posting search was ineffective).

I feel the same way, but given that the boxes feature C-II artwork I'm guessing HiG doesn't have a lot of interest in tailoring the tucks to C-I needs. :( But maybe this just means we have to wait for them to catch up on converting everything to II.
