I was looking for on the rules the most famous sentence of HiG and... here it is!!
'This expansion has been designed for the CARCASSONNE base game, therefore its rules still apply.
You can combine the land surveyors with other expansions, however this has not yet been tested and you’d have to try it at your own risk, without any official rules'
Hahahahha This made my day... Oh god... HiG seems to be neglecting interaction with expansions and wants meepledrone to do it for them...

Hum.... If there anyone here who had the chance to playtest this mini-expansion?

We Played it. It's confusing. Some +1 some -1
1. You need to change every scoring tile for every feature after scoring any feature. It also include 0 points for finished city when any meeple was inside city.
2. It's very quick and you can't plan, because while it will be your turn, usually it was once or multiple times (depends on players), scoring tiles were changed.
3. But it's fun, and it's fine to play just for play, not to win.
So when you want to have fun, it's good.
When you want to use something like this, but you want to win, then choose Seasons, this is better for planning.

Suggestion: I thing it will be good to create more scoring tiles as fan expansion, because it's 5+4+3. It can be more fun with more, like confitional tile if road is smaller than 3 get -1 if road if larger +1. For example.

I thing, there will me more house rules. Like change only that scoring tile which was used. It can be defensive specialy for for 0 for city or -1 for every city tile arround monastery.
And It will need to be created scoring tile for other features like
Green forest, Oceans, Montains, etc.

I'm trying to put my thoughts in order when all this additional scoring warping has to be combined with other expansions... Roads and cities have a couple of dark spots...

Remember, HiG told you that you can't think beyond basic game... It's on your own risk!! Your head could explode trying expansions with this... Hahahaha

I agree, base game only is for tournament play, social play needs more tiles.

Hmmm... I was pleasantly surprised by the interesting twist this mini-expansion added to our games. It was a first PnP I dared to handcraft, partially as it was not necessary to include the result of my lame try directly into the game tiles. The outcome was actually not that bad, a combination of good quality color print on a self-adhesive paper and a cardboard of a suitable thickness worked out quite well. Still I thought this miniexpansion would deserve its manufactured version. Some mentioned previously that this may have been included into a Spielbox magazine issue that covers the anniversary edition. But not. A pitty.

What is your experience and thoughts about The Land Surveyors?
I think that an expansion should not alterate the core rules (at least not for the entire game); if you add an expansion, you should be still able to place a tile, place a meeple (optionally) and make the ordinary scoring. When playing with The Land Surveyors, you are no longer able to score a feature as in the base game. For example, The Messages or The Gifts do not alterate these rules, so they are playable in a Mega-Carcassonne; only add to the rules. The Land Surveyors is an interesting expansion, but for me, is only good for an excentric game.
