Thanks for calculating the results, Decar!

Please interchange WhatIf's and my position in Group 1 and put me into Group "Alpha" and WhatIf into Group "Beta" - then everything is fine and correct

I dont have any preferences for the 3rd round.

I think we can make a 4-player happen. But I also like to have a play-off. In both cases I play against at least one player I have not faced in the tournament yet (Clownfeet, Skane).

I still don't understand how the winner of the tournament will be decided, what criteria(-s) will be taken after final round? How much points by places will get each player in final round?

Group α is made of 1st & 2nd place from Group 1 & Group 2.
Group β is made of 3rd & 4th place from Group 1 & Group 2.

If the final round is a single 4 player game, I think that rankings will be decided by the position in that final game.

1st-4th in Group α & 5th-8th in Group β.

We could have a 4th and final Round of Play-Offs. If you'd like this, I would recommend it would be:
1st vs 2nd in Group α. Then 3rd vs 4th in Group α ...etc..

Any Point Calculations or Points Difference calculations can be abused by competitors, many years ago the qualifiers of the UK Championships were determined by points scored: so players worked together to score the most points, rather than compete against each other. Carcassonne Central measures Points Difference to eliminate any tie-breaking situations, it's usually a better indicator of skill difference - although there are many factors than can drastically alter this. Ultimately, consistently winnings games has been the best measure and the scoreboards show: Winning games awards 2 points towards the round.

Here's how I see it: The 1st round ranked players and the 2nd round has compared groups. The final round can be used to rank players.

I'm open to ideas and part of the ethos of the Welcome Tournament is the flexibility of the format! Though it can be open to certain tactical plays, consistent winning seems to help

I like this new suggestion. 3rd round is 4-player game and 4th round are play-offs, with overall 1st placed player vs 2nd and so on. Who would also vote for that?

The winner of the tournament is the one with the most games won, resp. most points gathered. How will the 4-player games be rewarded? 1st 3pts, 2nd 2pts, 3rd 1, 4th 0 ?

Generally I like any tournament format where I end up winning.

On the other hand I also like elimination rounds based on overall league where 1st meets last, 2nd meets second last etc., preferrably best of 3 but reasonably best of 1. Each player gets to choose one mini and one regular exp or likewise.

I´ll play anyhow so anything is cool with me.

Concerning multiplayer game, I think it´s nice and cruel if it is only one game but a laaarge one (2h) with some exp that adds meeples.

Elo ratings for the first 2 rounds:

Note: Initial Elo is 1200 for everybody, but since Skane and Adrornalin were in the "Tournament in a Day", I ajusted their ratings accordingly. Also, Olya is there because every game played counts, as far as Elo calculation is concerned.

Sorry, been wrapped up in work this week!

I'm just looking for suggestions at the moment. If I've not heard any more by this evening, we'll go ahead with a 4 player game for the next round!

Round 4 will be 2 player games to determine the overall winner (expansions to follow):
Group α : 1st vs 2nd to play for 1st & 2nd.
Group α : 3rd vs 4th to play for 3rd & 4th.
Group β: 1st vs 2nd to play for 5th & 6th.
Group β : 3rd vs 4th to play for 7th & 8th.

A lot of mixed expansions, wow, very nice. This will gonna be a very tricky and competitive 4-player game I think. Especially with the bazaar auctions and a maybe soon appearing dragon. Really looking forward to it! : )

One question: I never played with "Little Buildings", I guess it is "Die Haeuser" in german?! In a 4-player every player will get only one little building each sort, instead of six each. Well but maybe it still has an effect?!

How about playing Monday around evening, guys? ; )

Edit: My JCZ seems to have a problem with the Little Buildings. I can not click on the symbol next to the meeple and I can not chose which sort of building to pick. After spamming many clicks on various tiles, JCZ places a building, but it is not visible. What is wrong here - can anyone help?
