Title: KJW spin off thread.
Post by: Meepledrone on August 26, 2020, 06:06:56 AM
What was the last Carcassonne product that you were actually directly involved in? (my money’s on Hills & Sheep)

On CarcF you can find some pictures of a fan meeting on 20.11.2016 where KJW play tests a prototype of Under the Big Top....

So he has Exp. 10 under his belt too.

I removed question from original thread, because request was ask only one question.
I kept: What will be next killer game like carcassonne?
So here are deleted:
Which expansion is most beloved? - personal, interesting for me, but it not bring same new information
Will there ever be C3? If yes, when? - this is more about marketing and sells
Are you playing fan expansions? - well, there are more than 600, but I would like to know, how thay handle to find new expansion between that numbers of fan expansions to not bring something existing but new. But last expansion is from 2016? I'm not sure if this is right question now, maybe next year after 20th anniversary

Some answers to your questions:

* Next releases will be a new Winter Edition and an new Hunters & Gatherers...
* I only read that KJW's favourite figure is the dragon, but I don't remember him mentioning a favorite expansion.
* A C3 edition? When HiG decides to make more money again by revamping the franchise...
* KJW does not pay much attention to fun expansions, as per some interviews. HiG has a disclaimer that they are in their right to release anything they decide too no matter it is similar to a fan expansion. The creator of the fan expansion may not have any claims over the idea... I have seem ideas similar to fan expansions but never the same. For example, The Land Surveyors implements a mechanic similar to one available in the Seasons fan expansion.

Yeah, I know them, and I like it more that Land surveyors, because scoring rules are not changing very quickly like in HiG release of same idea.
Anyway, I found some fan expansins like "Shepherd" which is quite similar to Hills & Sheeps etc.

This was anyway reason why I remove this question, they need to know it, but they also need to release different version of same idea.

We will see. Anyway, I had luck to buy Brand new Winter Edition this year, and I'm not sure, that I did right thing, because 14 days than was released news about new winter edition ;-(

Do you keep (at least) 1 copy of every release of Carcassonne (and related)? Including all official expansions, spin offs, etc...
Uff, in all languages? ;-D

Hahaha, no, not in all languages, that would require a lot of space!
No, more of he's got a big collection like so many of us.
Although come to think of it, some of us might have more  things, like for example the RGG Carcassonne collection (golden) box, which I would understand KJW doesn't have?

This gold box from Rio.

KJW does that the special binding edition. I was there when he was presented it during the 2016 anniversary celebration.
