The seller changed his/her location:

At 8:15 he/she lives and comes from Germany.

now at 10:00 he/she lives and comes from Singapore.

"thecarcassonnecollector" recently changed his name from "icydarkstary" and is a member of Carcassonne Central under that nickname. He has even posted on this thread to link to his listing for Corn Circles (but that message was removed).

I would never buy from him for a number of reason and wouldn't recommend anyone else do so either. Cost aside, the descriptions he puts up are factually incorrect and nothing short of moronic. He has also claimed that Corn Circles 1 is now unavailable except through him!

Looking through his history he has sold a number of "La Porxada" tiles which he's listed as being extremely rare. Whilst this would be fair enough if they were originals, the fact is that he is simply making his own copies of the tiles and then selling them on. This makes them about as rare as a snotty tissue to a parent of a toddler with a cold. Somehow he's been able to find people daft enough to pay for them which probably helps to explain why he can afford to get hold of some of the genuinely rare expansions. I dread to think how much he'd charge for The Cathars...

Hi danisthirsty, here are some clarifications :-[

1) The reason why i put that i have last few available Corn Circle 1 for sale is because im the only seller that is selling it on Ebay.com/ Ebay.de/BBG
2) The reason why Corn Circles 1 and Cathars are so expensive because, i bought them at expensive prices from Germany. I took time and effort to hunt down for these items.
3) As for the La Porxada, it was stated on the listing that they were not the original. I have stated it very clearly in the description and every buyer was satisfied as they continuingly make request to me to make more for them. But i have stooped making them for a very long time already. I will not sell them anymore in the future.
4) The Corn Circles and Belagerer in the listing are genuine. The reason why i price it high is because of 2 reasons.
    - I have a limited quantity of them in my collection, so only those that can afford should get them.
    - I sold a number of Corn Circles 1 at around the listed price. The reason why it was listed so many times was because they was sold. i relisted it to sell another copy.
5) The changing of location from Singapore to Germany was an error. I thought they wanted to country of origin.
6) I noticed my mistake of putting the Hans Im Gluck logo. So i put it down.
7) I only have 1 copy of belagerers in my collection. im only willing to sell if some buyer is willing to pay. If not I can't bear to sell it away.  :-\ (i was actually hoping no one who buy it, but i listed it anyway if someone reaaally wants it :-[)

Sorry for causing all the uproar  :-[

@icydarkstary - How you conduct your business affairs is entirely up to you, but expecting other people to pay inflated prices just because you did doesn't seem justifiable to me. But then what do I know? You must be doing something right if you can afford to live in Germany and Singapore simultaneously.

@ Icydarkstary, Ebay is a free market and you can charge what you will, but I would just find it very hard for anyone to justify paying the amount of money that you are asking for your sets.
For me, this forum is about people that love this game and want to encourage others in playing and make the most out of their game. It's not about seeing what people want the most so that you can try to make a profit off of them.
That's just my two cents since I don't have the 185.00 for corn circles or 285.00 for besiegers.
Good luck

Not the most I've seen a Carc item go for on eBay.  Die Katharer has commanded more.

If publisher do not want to see items being sold for moronic prices at auction sites on the Internet, or have their copy righted material pirated and sold off, they can simply make official versions readily available to their fan-base. People will find a way to supply any and all demands; that is how the market works.

I neither condone nor touch piracy, but I do understand it.

The publisher must have been expecting this since they only printed, what, 1000 copies of Die Belagerer?  Mueller paid for an exclusive it seems and they definitely have one.

This has always been an issue in the world of business. Carcassonne on the other hand is not suited to be limited edition nor for collecting of rarity like other games. Considering the viable usage of the basic game and it's expansions even today, there should be a simple way to release these.
Trimming down the box size would be one great advantage in saving for material and shipping. I could go for a flat sheet embalmed in plastic like The Plague.

So far I've only bought sealed sets of the Carcassonne products but am considering of buying opened/used mainly to increase my tile collection, my main love for the game.  :meeple:

I've always thought of Carc as both a game and a collectible, the publisher obviously wanted it to be such or else there wouldn't have been limited and/or exclusive sets and there has been from the very beginning, like Die Katharer.  When they only print it once or twice in a magazine that makes it a limited edition to me.

Plus it was then later released in a new version to stores with alternate art.

A more human price you can find here at ebay - the complete box:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Carcassonne-rare-offiz-Erw-Die-Belagerer-Graf-Konig-Konsorten-OVP-/221281995292?pt=DE_Allesf%C3%BCrsKind_Spielzeug_Gesellschaftsspiele&hash=item33856f4a1c

This auction will end in around 3 hours.

At the moment is the price: 36,00 EUR

Sure, but just watch, if it goes for a "reasonable" price it will be bought by somebody who will sell it on ebay.com for a much higher price.

I've been watching this one too. Bear in mind that the previous one (which started this thread) was at a price very similar to this and shot up to over 100 Euros in the last 10 seconds...

Exactly.  I've bought "rare" Carc items from German eBay myself and can attest to that last second scramble.  Getting the Plague was a nightmare.
