Fields of Flubber (New art Carcassonne)
« on: November 07, 2018, 02:55:57 PM »
After HiG decided to reprint the game completely with its expansions with a horrible new design, as a fan of the old art of my sweet Döris I need to say it: The new edition SUCKS. Especially for the colors. The fields seem made of liters and liters of flubber. I am alone? Or are there more like me who reject the new Carcassonne?

Haven't like the thought of it, but find that the colours are not that bad. Still prefer old edition, but new edition is for my part nothing wrong with

My problem principally is with the colors.

It is bad yes. But they needed to do it to keep up with the digital world.

This topic was old in 2014.

HiG are continuing to support the new edition of Carcassonne.  Though 16th Century philosophers will allow you to form an opinion without justification, I wont.

There is no need to be rude about something you don't like. Most of the opinions here are without any constructive critism.

I am aware of a large base of players that prefer the new art work. I for one think the accessibility is much improved and I also think the old tiles look very dated now.  The higher contrast makes differentiation of features clearer.

Regardless of opinion, people have worked hard to create the new edition. Anne Pätzke has been kind enough to support this forum directly and I cannot sit by and let people be immature and obnoxious.

Improvements were made when the Princess and Dragon tiles were released. If you don't like the new artwork you are welcome to remain in the year 2000.
