Test thread for any member, the Umlauts challenge
« on: July 09, 2014, 08:52:03 AM »
Some modifications to the forum setting was made a few minutes ago. From my end, it seems to work fine.
Can anyone else reply to this thread using umlauts and special characters, see if it works for you as well?

Testline: En ära för mig å vara här. (Swedish: An honour for me to be here.)
Testline: Ø_O (monocle smiley)
Testline: J'aime l'été! (French: I love summer!)
Testline: {£ê (3 characters, left arch, Pound sign, e with a roof)

I did not know you understood Swedish.  :D If or not, thret not, I will always write in English. All my electronics and computer are also in English. Saves a lot of time when talking internationally.  :))

Aha! Now I understand what you meant.  8)

I should also point out that I can't take all the credit. Scott was on the right track way back then, when he installed the UTF-8 (the heavy work). All I did was activating it.

older threads and postings are also perfect with the special letters....

see here in the dictionary - all the German ä,ö,ü are there  ;D

Dictionary - World of the Game Carcassonne - German/English
------------------------
I will change the dictionary  - some examples:
Huegel into Hügel
Kultstaette into Kultstätte

That's one impressive list. Never saw it before. I really should dig into the past thread of CC.  :@
I could never grasp the German language in it's full but I did learn that ß is pronounced as a double 's'. (Großer [grosser])

Okay, I'll run a test too, since I sometimes had copy-paste problems due to specially formatted characters from Microsoft Word (curly quotes, dashes, etc.)

Quote from: Previous questions to HiG

The new version of the Festival tiles has changed the removal of “figures” to the removal of “followers”.

In the Catapult expansion, there is a tile which has a monastery and a fair – on this tile, the yellow ground stretches to touch 2 of the edges of the tile.

Perfect!
