This Labyrinth tile has me thinking that we really should come up with a few variant start tiles that have some special feature unique to the start tile that all players can earn a bonus off of if they expand from it (kind of like the German Castles mechanic but on a single tile). Just something to get the game started on the right foot. It doesn't even have to score points – it should just stand out like the start tile in Hunters & Gatherers does.

How about a cccc tile like the non-cathedral one in Inns & Cathedrals with 4 separate city caps, and each cap has a player-neutral builder in it which generates a bonus turn for anyone with at least one knight in that city?

What happens if the first player draws a FFRR tile? Or FRFR? Or anything else without a city?

Although I must say that I think a neutral builder is a cool idea in general.

They lose immediately. Or something else happens. I don't know yet, I hadn't thought that far ahead...

I suppose maybe the start tile could be a 2-city cap tile with a road on one of the other sides and a field on the other. The road could also have a builder. Maybe.

Reading through this thread has made me sad that I'll be owning a potential useless tile. Then again, the completionist in me will be kicking myself in a years time if I didn't own it.

The choice is too much to handle!
