Hi guys,
I set my order for far more than 20 euro but.. somehow I didn't put Spiel '19 tile into the basket. I paid via PayPal so payment was done immediately..and I guess that order is completed. I sent them an e-mail with explanation.. but I'm afraid that they will ship before reading it. What should I do now??? Maybe send an order just for the Spiel Tile with comment?... or just wait?

I think that this kind of situation happened to someone before.. but I can't find proper thread.

My order came today with everything ... but Spiel Tile  :'(

Finally the Spiel 19 tile is sold out.

I received information that my order was shipped on 5th of December. So now I will just wonder what would happen if I added that Spiel Tile to the basket? or... what would happen if anyone in Cundco read my message that I sent one week earlier (on 29th of November)?...

I'm not blaming anyone. I'm just disappointed. ..especially when I spent 15 euro more than I would in Poland for same items (maps, tolls, etc.), just to get that tile.

I just hope that Whaleyland will get his package with Spiel Tile in it :)

General / Tile? with a Minion?
« on: December 03, 2019, 07:17:09 AM »
Hi,
I'm looking for a tile with a Minion on it. He was going out of some hole in the ground or something.
I'm not even sure if that was a tile or rather someones avatar... but what I'm sure is that I saw it somewhere probably on our forums.. Probably, because now when I'm thinking about it, I get more confused about if it was here or on the other forums (Czech or German). If it was a tile I probably downloaded it but I can't find it now.

I want to make a tile/gift for my girlfriend because she was so happy when she saw that picture.
Please help me guys.

For those who wants to get Spiel tile from Cundco... as I remember correctly.. in last year or two years ago, to reach the expenses level (costs) that entitled you to get the Spiel tile, you had to buy something else than latest expansions, ... so beware that this year "maps" can be excluded from these things.
I don't think this is true. I've picked up a Spiel tile every year and always bought the new expansions as a part of my purchase. If anything, this year will be better since there are so many maps to purchase, which will make it easy to reach the price point.
Same
Ok. My bad

No worries there. I mean to wait until December to order, but I will test out to see how much shipping will cost before then. If they do fold the maps, shipping shouldn't be awful. If they don't, then who knows. I seem to remember it being a small fortune just to order the German map last year, prompting me to decide against it.

I have Germany and hmm.. The material from which it is made is some "plastic paper". Not very thick and quite strong but still I don't know how you can fold it without making irreversible bends or maybe even cracks or cuts. I mean, it's possible but it's risky.

Are these maps worth it?  Wish there was a shop in the USA that sold Carcassonne paraphernalia still  ;)

I think they are. I mean, I'm not sure if you should suddenly buy all the maps but since we got "Germany", we only play on it. It changes your approach to the way you play. As for me there are two reasons related to space and freedom of laying tiles:
1. Reaching: You can start in one of three different places and you can play as you always do but because of those big cities with bonuses that are already placed/printed on the map, besides (or sometimes instead) of laying tiles freely, you try to figure out how to connect to these cities to make theme your own.
2. Borders: You can't feel it when you start but as the game progresses you can see that there is not enough space to expand your cities or roads in this or that direction because of the borders. Limited space forces you to think more strategically than in normal Carcassonne. Sometimes you have a really hard time to make/get a good points from last few tiles or even to place them at all.

Size of "Germany" (like Spain, France and Luxembourg) requires 110-120 tiles so gives you a chance to add to the base game at least two random expansions so you don't lose the pleasure of playing with additional rules. Now there are "Chips" so it should be even more entertaining.

For us, 114 tiles wasn't enough (there was to much spaces/slots left) so we added German Castles which makes 126, and makes you think twice harder as these are double tiles.

On the Spiel tile the bridge ends in a city gate. But the other known tiles, see above, have no city gate. Conclusion: I would say that the two cityparts are not connected to each other.

To be honest, for me it looks like the bridge ends with a wall ;) You can see that better on the right part of the city,.. so people are trapped there ;)
I think this was just overlooked by the designer. The plan was that cities "are connected" but it doesn't look like it.

Congrats to everyone that completed Carcassonne collection!! :)

We also have all :) except Spiel's :/ Maybe someday.. but I'm more for printing them than buying them so that doesn't bother me that much.

I think having a spare Big Box around is always a good thing.  You could take your spare Carcassonne to work and share it with some colleagues!

Totally agree.
My girlfriend bought first base game 2.0 without The River mini expansion. After we bought 1 & 2 big expansion I found that there are copies with the River so we bought another base game in Greek :) and we took out The River. At first, It was supposed to be our travel copy but at the end we gave spare base game as a gift to our friends (opened but totally new). We just had to ad copied Polish rules :) Then, when Big Box came out I just wasn't thinking. Why? First of all, Big Box comes as 2.1 version so we switched already used and "tired" tiles of: base game, The River, T&B and I&C. Second of all, as we play Mega Carcassonne we had a lot of tiles (now more) mixed together so it was difficult when we wanted to play shorter game or take it outside like to friends or on a trip. Base game with T&B and I&C fits perfectly in an expansion box so we keep it there and take wherever we want. Last but not least, 1 & 2 expansion is never a waste of money. Not only because of the rules but also because of a lot of tiles that you get with those two expansions. And with base game you have complete package that you or anyone can play. You can keep it, you can sell it, or give it to someone.. (finally we gave spare The River as another gift). Even from economic point of view, in Poland you can buy Big Box for only twice as Base game costs. You even can't buy those 2 expansions for the difference in price and then you have another 6 expansions that you wanted.. and a big box that you can use for whole collection. I do :)

There is a hole only in a game box or also in a box or bag that Carcassonne came in?

Publisher mistake can be one thing but if there is something specified missing it can be made by someone in purpose.

I think that's correct. At least I understand rules like you

Thanks Piasekstc, that's good to know.   I find it fascinating that, what appears to be a simple concept, has so many nuances. and gives so many options.   I am looking forward to seeing these new tiles in action.

Imagine now, how it will work when playing mega Carcassonne (like we do) :)

News and Events / Re: New Expansion: German Monasteries Second Edition
« on: October 11, 2018, 05:42:14 AM »
I think it would look better if they added something around them to show where are they exactly located (f.ex. on a rock or hill). Just something like they did German Cathedrals. Before and even more now they look like they are in the middle of a field, which is probably not true.. but it's nice that they've done that even if they made it 1 to 1 in new graphic. Besides, they added some new buildings (like in first monastery) so they made them more correct from that point.  .. or maybe those old monasteries are still expanding :)
