Just finished good game with Clownfeet, where luck was on my side.
If You will look at the bottom right corner where Clownfeet has 2 workers blocked on road and city,  they were blocked there whole game, because all those tiles which fit there came to me, that was biggest luck that made my win and morally ruined game for Clownfeet
Also this game was not about farmers, whole game there were few farms with one finished city and only at the end we got one farm with 2 cities where I placed my last worker. All city tiles were used to connect and finish that huge city which was my at the beginning and then at the middle of the game I decided to ruin it and that also helped me win. Thanks Clownfeet and good luck in next games :violet-meeple:

Nop. He has not visited forum since 24.06.2016.
I don't think he will manage to play 3 games in short period of time.

This Sunday we will have Carcassonne evening in Riga, I will try to get new participant(-s) for us.

tonight stars aligned and myself and Whatif played the last game in our group.  He won convincingly 101-76 points.

At start of game I thought I was doing well having trapped several of his men in cloisters and roads and we were roughly equal for what was becoming a large field.  mid game he did a good job of protecting a large city in the west but I drew the CCFF tile that splits cities.  I decided to finish both cities which gave him an extra 8 points.  I felt with length of game left he would get the tile he needed to finish it.  However giving him the maples back at this stage was my undoing and a battle began for control of the large field which untimely I lost.  Looking at scores I think he still would have just pipped me even the field was a draw.

Well Done Group B for completing all your games!

Thanks for the patiences as we work out what's happening in group AC.

I've been in touch with Daliles, so I'm hoping we'll get started - otherwise Olya may be back from holiday and able to resume!?!?

Kettlefish has been kind enough to provide a new X-score sheet to use, so I'll get the latest games updated this evening.

Good luck everyone!

Hello all, the forum area that houses this thread is going into lock-down mode to hide it away from those who don't want to see it by making it an opt-in forum area. I have compiled a list of everyone who is currently taking part in an online competition (this one and the Tower league) and will be setting up the group this evening to include everyone automatially. Please let me know if I need to allow access to anyone taking part in this competition whose name isn't listed below:

Just finished a nerve-racking game with Clownfeet.  It was a good battle and it was undecided to the last tile.  I emerged barely victorious although I thought that I had lost.  I trapped two of Clownfeet's followers in cloisters early in the game.  I think that that provided the slight edge that I needed, and probably frustrated Clownfeet.  There was a battle for the larger farm, as expected, which ended in a tie by Clownfeet sneaking another farmer on.  Clownfeet played a great game and I look forward to seeing Clownfeet in further rounds.   :(y) :green-meeple:

I forgot to put my name in on JCZ, but I am the  :green-meeple: .

From the other thread i found that Decar wrote:

"All players will be ranked after this stage and 'evenly' put into groups basic on their score.
EG:  {1st,4th,7th} (2nd,5th,8th} (3rd,6th,9th} for example.

Round 2 - BASIC And Rivers 1v3 (maybe 4)

We'll start with some 3 players in a game (so it's logistically easier to schedule games), but we might have to do 4, if there's 8 players.
This should be fun for those who like multi-player games.

1st - 3points
2nd - 2points
3rd - 1 point.
(tie for 1st/2nd = 2points each) , (tie for 2nd/3rd = 2 point each).

I'm considering a 3rd round, but dont want to ask too much of you all to start with - if we get 12 players maybe we can have 3 x 4 player games to finish so everyone's played some 2player, 3player and 4player games.

The overall winner will be the player who has acquired the most league points."

I play pinball competitions a lot, and we found that dividing groups 1,4,7 and 2,5,8 for example, is a disadvantage for the winner of qualifications since he/she gets to play better players, just saying that 4 groups from 12 players might instead be something like
A 1, 12, 8
B 2, 11, 7
C 3, 10, 6
D 4, 9, 5

My second question is if there was a third round last year and/or there will be one this year?
Maybe I shouldn´t buy kathars, what would I do next?

The thread from last years tournament is http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=1920.270

We had a second round and then a final 3rd round.

Rounds 1 and 2 were all 2 player games.
Round 3 was a 3 player game where rank 1, 2 & 3 played a single game with the outcome of that game determining overall 1st 2nd and 3rd places in the tournament.  Rank 4, 5 & 6 played for these overall positions etc.
