The Marketplace / WTS Carcassonne 2001 RGG (NIS)
« on: November 05, 2022, 01:43:50 PM »
Hi everyone. I have a new-in-shrink Rio Grande Games Carcassonne release from 2000 (copyrighted 2000 with 2001 Spiel des Jahres logo on front). From what I can tell, this contains the rare 70-point score track. The box back shows a score track with a “55”. Can someone on here confirm that for me based on these pics?

I’m not sure what it’s worth but I know the score track is rare. Any help in that regard is also appreciated.

EDIT: This great community confirmed this does NOT have the 70-point track. Still willing to part with it if anyone is interested.

News and Events / Origins game assist from Canada
« on: May 12, 2022, 08:38:35 AM »
If anyone is driving to Columbus OH for Origins next month from Canada, and importantly, would be willing to have me ship a game to them from Amazon.ca to drive down and meet up at Origins, please send me a DM. Thanks.

The Marketplace / WTB Scoring Flag Bundle
« on: February 02, 2022, 03:36:57 AM »
Did anyone pick up a spare set of the bundled scoring flags from Cundco.de and are willing to sell me one? Or maybe you bought them and for some reason don’t like them? They have been out of stock for a while. Emails with Cundco state they will be restocking them soon but no longer selling as a bundle (only an advent sale).

Reviews & Session Reports / Easter in Carcassonne
« on: April 15, 2017, 09:18:11 PM »
Finally got around to trying Fritz_Spinne's fan-made expansion, Der Osterhase (Easter Bunny), the first of the fan-made expansions posted by HiG on their website (unless I'm mistaken). I had two reasons for trying this out today; the first being the obvious choice of the holiday, but equally important for me, it was another attempt to try to get my family to love the game I enjoy so much. My daughter loves sweets, so combining chocolate with the game seemed to peak her interest. My son loves playing diabolically, so he was happiest to move the bunny away from other players or into a corner. Not sure it did much to convince my wife to play more games, but that was expected.

Kudos to Fritz_Spinne for a great adaptation. As I'm sure he intended, I was able to use the tiles from The Festival and the dragon tiles from Princess and Dragon to pull off the game without needing to print anything to test this out. Fun times were had by all (most).

Happy Easter everyone!

Reviews & Session Reports / Ratings and Comments on Fan-Made Expansions
« on: August 16, 2013, 12:09:58 PM »
One of the common questions posted on this site is an inquiry into which fan expansions are the general favorites, including a similar post this week.

I'm likely opening myself up to harsh criticisms of my own expansion, but I think it would be helpful to other members and to the authors if we could encourage members (if there is a way) to leave ratings and comments for fan expansions they have printed and used.  Of course, such a rating would only be as helpful as it is honest, and there are bound to be ratings from members who haven't printed and played the expansion.  If possible, maybe we can even add a poll to each download to show how many members have actually printed/played it.  Very few of the downloads have ratings, even though I know them to be great expansions...and I'm as guilty of this as everyone else.

I've downloaded every fan expansion on this site (I believe), but when it comes to actually making tiles, I seem to have much less time.  Knowing which fan expansions are the best received and most recommended could help others like me decide which ones to make next.  I'm curious how others feel about this and whether we could somehow make this work.
