After much thinking and doubting I decided, that I can't miss such a competition :D
Technically, I suppose, I am in time ;D Sorry, if this will cause a little bit chaos in the divisions' distributions ::)
I choose Abbey & Mayor.

Big thanks to Steve for taking over Leagues. I had some difficult period in my life, "up&down"s, but now it looks like I am ready for a new challenge :)

If you need an Excel table with all-time ratings I made, based on usual sports regulations, just let me know.

P.S. 1800th post. Symbolic :)

To tell you the truth, my way to the World Championships wasn't really straightforward. Actually I finished 3rd at the qualification tournament but the two finalists couldn't afford the trip to Essen...
As Dan already said, you deserved it in any way! Congratulations! See you there! ;)
In many countries (including Baltic States) organizing company pays all the trip costs for representing player. It's not the case in Hungary?

I would save my diploma for 6th place in Carcassonne World championship'2016. It is very special to me and will always remind me that you should concentrate on a game till the very end.

Perhaps you could hook up with MrNumbers and his companions? I don't know what his plans are this year, but previously he has shared an apartment or similar near to Essen. There may be space with him, and it would probably make it all the more affordable if there is an extra person to split the bill between. Plus he is an excellent Carcassonne player so you will have someone to practice against before the big day!
We usually book Airbnb apartment, and amount of people and beds is strictly defined. This year is not an exception, sorry.

btw, there is usually a meetup with lots of Carcassonne fans at the Cundco Booth on the Thursday afternoon (2.30 I think).
Usually it is at 12:30, but everything could be changed :)

You can use this page:
http://bgg.jsmackin.co.uk/
Enter your bgg username, export your collection to Excel and then filter out Carcassonne.
However, there are some strange prices on some items.
My whole collection, including all games, shows as €2127.16 worth (value method - average, date range - last 360 days).

Anything Else / Re: I love the local store...

What else did we do wrong?
When you choose two tiles (for two cities), you don't assign them to particular cities at the very same moment (blindly). You just choose two tiles each, you all reveal them and then you can discuss which tile better suits which city. We played it the other way around - choose tile, assign to particular city and then reveal what your partner has chosen.

I have visited FLGS recently :)
By the way, after careful reading of B2C rules I found out that we played it (in Ostritz) in a little bit wrong way (harder way). Original ruling makes it a little bit easier :D

At last I downloaded photos from my phone :)
Photos are available via Google Drive link.
Of course, I don't think that you'll find there something very special and exclusive, as Decar already has a photo of every tree in the surroundings ;D
But still I have one very exclusive photo, which I can share (as attachment to this post) ^-^

Anything Else / Re: Problems with postimg.org domain

FWIW, there were a few posts that had text references to posting.org that were not actually links. You're not counting those, I assume?
Of course, these didn't count. Checkbox "Show results as messages" helped a lot: I saw particular affected posts, not threads.
For example, I fixed last links in this, this and this posts.

You have changed links in your posts, but in 2 or 3 posts there were more than one link, and you accidentally missed one link at the very bottom of the post.

OK, I went through all 100+ posts with links to postimg.org and changed them to postimg.cc. Now it should be OK.

I have already expressed my thoughts to Moritz directly during our session, but I will post them here too, just to have a full picture.

The big part of I have said then was echoed by Dan now. I told about possibility to [at some level] officially recognize our online tournaments and in ideal situation to send a winner to a World championship. This could be World Cup winner, but Dan also noticed that WC is more about expansions, not the base game only, so it could be Base game League winner in this case. And of course, we can change the rules to match HiG high standards.
Another story is our leagues. Participation in them gives much experience in particular expansion and we are all having much fun. I asked Moritz, is it possible to support our online tournaments with some prizes to, for example, first 3 places. They shouldn't be big or expensive or exclusive, it could be even a voucher to Cundco! But with these prizes in mind it makes it more attractive to participate in our tournaments. And again, of course, we can change the rules if needed, limit number of tournaments per year and do whatever we need to be supported by HiG. I already said to Moritz that participation in expansion leagues can encourage players to actually buy expansion in question, if they don't own it yet, for example. Eventually HiG wants to sell not only base games all the time, expansions are also a big part of Carcassonne family.

Online Games and Competitions / Re: The Great Escape
« on: July 18, 2018, 02:33:28 PM »
First games have been played.
Game 1: MrNumbers as escaper - 113.
Game 2: ny1050220 as escaper - 82.

Completely different style of playing, especially playing as trapper. You should always remember that your points are irrelevant, but it is so tempting to place a meeple on already-8-points cloister! ;D BTW, ny1050220 joined to 12-points farm only with his last tile!
Playing as escaper you don't avoid joining attempts from your opponent - you join by yourself :)
Thanks for the good games, NY, and good luck in future games!

So apparently postimg.org has stopped delivering hosted images from their .org domain and most of my images on Carcassonne Central (and indeed everything I've published everywhere over the past few years) have disappeared. I ran through all the images in this particular thread and updated the URLs, and it seems to have worked. However, I have no idea how long it's going to take to update everything I've ever posted.

I recall this coming up when Dan or Decar needed to make wholesale changes, an I can't remember if we thought there was any hope of a back-end solution. It's literally just one global replace for everybody who hosts on this service: change postimg.org to postimg.cc.
It can't be done automatically (except for some SQL statement, but it is dangerous), but you can find all your posts, which is linked to postimg.org just entering in search field "postimg.org" and probably your nickname to filter out only your messages.
Later I will fix all remaining bad links to .cc.

We'll have our car - so maybe we can ferry you (and others) around!
That's a kind offer! ::) Let's discuss details later, closer to Essen ;)
