They're not actually abbots - but quite close and definitely different to the standard meeples...
They came from Spiele Material (http://www.spielematerial.de/en/game-components/game-pieces/persons/man-with-cap-knight-squire.html) - basically to meet the minimum order value I had to buy 8 sets, one of which was for myself...
Spiele Material don't sell them in black - so I have spray painted a grey one (yes, I ordered an extra set of grey ones) black using satin paint.
If anyone is interested - let me know. Selling at cost (plus any paypal fees, postage).
Cost to me - each meeple €0.10, postage to get the order to me €7.00, round numbers - €12 for 8 sets - so €1.50 / £1.20 per set plus postage & fees
UK postage (large letter) - 96p first class, 75p second class
Europe (large letter) - £2.45
ROTW (large letter) - £3.15/£3.30
Payment methods acceptable - Paypal (you pay the fees), UK bank transfer

These are knights from Carcassonne: The City or Carcassonne: The Castle

Mea culpa :(
Oh well - they're still for sale if anyone is interested :)

Yes, hope someone is interested. It does highlight the biggest issue I have with the UK postal service too. A Meeple can't be posted as a letter :(

They look like the ones from the Castle, but they are in the five colors instead of the two earth-tone colors that came in that expansion. I used one of the lighter-colored ones for Joff's Leper.

would you mind explaining this to us non-british?

The UK recognises 3 basic types of post. Based on their dimensions and weight. I dont have the metrics to hand but:
Letters are cheap to post but very thin.
Next is small packets- there are a bit bigger. But too think for a standard meeple. Last time i posted one it got ripped from the envelope.
Next is the large packet - which is basically everything else. Regardless of weight if the dimensions are large enough you have to pay £3 to get it abroad.
From there most things over 1kg are done by weight not dimension.

I'll send you a PM.

With Royal Mail - for inland (UK) the definitions are this:
Letter : Max length: 24cm; Max width: 16.5cm; Max thickness: 0.5cm; Max weight: 100g
Large Letter: Max length: 35.3cm; Max width: 25cm; Max thickness: 2.5cm; Max weight: 750g
Beyond those you're into small/medium/large parcels
For international:
Letter: Max length: 24cm; Max width: 16.5cm; Max thickness: 0.5cm; Max weight: 100g; Minimum size: One surface must be at least 9cm x 14cm
Large Letter: Max length: 35.3cm; Max width: 25cm; Max thickness: 2.5cm; Max weight: 750g
Small Packet: Minimum size: One surface must be at least 9cm x 14cm; Maximum size: The combined length + width + depth must be no more than 90cm with no single side longer than 60cm; Maximum weight: 2kg
Tubes: Minimum size: Length plus 2 x diameter should be at least 17cm, with the length no shorter than 10cm; Maximum size: Length plus 2 x diameter should be no greater than 104cm, with the length no greater than 90cm; Maximum weight: 2kg
Beyond that you're into kidney sales territory and international parcels... if it's possible to split your >2kg delivery into two parts it's usually cheaper to send 2 small parcels than one large one...
Oh, and all of this is at the mercy of the person on the counter at the Post Office - who has an epic volume of things you're not allowed to post at all.... one of which is "items manufactured from cellulose-based pulp" (you know, like paper...)

More generous than NZPost. Limit is a width of 1cm for any letter.
