Joansinmiedo played his first welcome tournament match tonight against Piklach. I gather that it was rather close throughout the game, with the last tile earning 3 points meaning that the game finished in a draw. As for what happened during the game I wouldn't know - I'll ask Piklach to comment tomorrow. Anyway, here's the screenshot...

I managed to play my final (first round) game earlier tonight, which was against Joansinmiedo - welcome to the tournament.

It was a rather close game, with us both battling throughout in order to have control of the main field. In the end, I finally managed to get a third farmer in and earned myself a share of the points. In addition to the farmers, we both had several meeples stuck for large parts of the game in unfinished cities, along with a road and a cloister in Joansinmiedo's case too. This prevented us from scoring too highly and we both had periods where we had no meeples left to place, although had the right tile have been drawn then things would have progressed quickly. It was an enjoyable game and challenge, with the outcome hanging in the balance right up until the end - as you can see from the screenshot, we both had large unfinished cities which would have scored quite highly and just ran out of tiles to get our recently placed farmers in to the main farm to gain an overall majority.

The final scores were:
Rich_The_Fish: 88

Joansinmiedo : 79

Thanks very much for hanging around after you'd finished your game with Piklach.

By my reckoning, there are just 3 games left in Group 2 now, so it'll not be long till round two...

It's been over two weeks and I've heard nothing from you - Please let us know when you are intending on playing.

Remaining Group2 Matches:
Joansinmiedo vs Lukey-Dukey
Joansinmiedo vs toastytoast

Please schedule a times to play.

If games remain unscheduled by Friday 28th the result will not be included in the Round 2 ranking.

If neither player attempts to schedule the game, it will be recorded as a loss for both players.
If one player is inactive it will be recorded as a win for the active player.
Games scheduled for after Friday will still be included in the Round calculations.
Any unforeseen circumstances will be handled by the adjudicator (eg: me).

Please ensure you have attempted to schedule your games this week; any inactivity may result in exclusion from Round 2.

Round 2 will begin on Monday 31st August regardless of any remaining matches.

I received a package today which contains the prizes for this tournament. It would be a shame to miss out on these very special items due to inactivity. Owning such items would be to the envy of many Carcassonne collectors. [I almost skipped the country to avoid having to give them to anyone.]
