Title: Rarities to complete my collection
Post by: ProstAcer on April 12, 2020, 04:03:01 PM
Hello!

As an amateur, I'm now only a few parts away from completing my Carcassonne collection.

I'm looking for Siege/Besiegers, the Russian Promo tiles, The River I, the 2006 Mini Expansion and Darmstadt.

Any chance of someone willing to sell them or any ideas?

Thank you in advance!

Peter

Hi ProstAcer,

Welcome to the forum.

Hope that you enjoy all the stuff available in the forum and that you succeed in your quest.

When I'm looking for something, I try different sources trying to push my lack. You may know them already, but just in case here you are:

* The Geek Market at Boardgame Geek (https://boardgamegeek.com/geekmarket?pageid=1 (https://boardgamegeek.com/geekmarket?pageid=1)): You can find some offers of rare expansions and also a hint of their current market value. Not cheap but informative.

For example, the Geek Market page with the Besiegers (no cheap offers):

https://boardgamegeek.com/geekmarket/browse?objecttype=thing&objectid=166518&pageid=1 (https://boardgamegeek.com/geekmarket/browse?objecttype=thing&objectid=166518&pageid=1)

...or the page with Games Quaterly #11 (mini expansion from 2006) offers:

https://boardgamegeek.com/geekmarket/browse?objecttype=thing&objectid=26615&pageid=1 (https://boardgamegeek.com/geekmarket/browse?objecttype=thing&objectid=26615&pageid=1)

* eBay of Germany (
http://eBay.de (http://eBay.de)): Better try the German version of eBay with a lot of offerings, not always at cheap prices but with patience you can find what you look for.

Look an offer of the GQ #11 mini expansion including the magazine (a bit more expensive in this case):
https://www.ebay.de/itm/Carcassonne-games-weekly-Winter-2006-11-original-verschweist-rar/124073928557?hash=item1ce361e76d:g:vyQAAOSwvzFeO-10 (https://www.ebay.de/itm/Carcassonne-games-weekly-Winter-2006-11-original-verschweist-rar/124073928557?hash=item1ce361e76d:g:vyQAAOSwvzFeO-10)

* ebay Kleinanzeigen (
https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de (https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de)): It is an eBay in Germany site for second hand ads. You get better deals here but the selling process is not automatic, you have to send messages from the site (usually in German) to close a deal and find out about shipping costs outside Germany.

For example, a current offer with the GQ #11 mini expansion (good start price):

https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/games-quarterly-mini-expansion-mini-erweiterung-carcassonne-fluss/1270376661-23-8741 (https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/games-quarterly-mini-expansion-mini-erweiterung-carcassonne-fluss/1270376661-23-8741)

I use the Chrome built-in translation feature to navigate the German pages and
Deepl.com (https://www.deepl.com/translator) as an additional translator.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
