It's a pitty that Lex Arena is suffering from most of the "1st project" problems usually seen.
Not having the gameplay video from the start was a huge mistake.
They should had sent one or two copies to the "usual" review bloggers which helps a lot.
And off the BGG entry is a must. There are a lot of games that have entries on BGG even before the Kickstarter gets launched.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his blood with me, Shall be my brother;

I mentioned BGG in the comments on Lex Arena's kickstarter page and they said they've submitted it and are waiting for approval.

(My) The problem with Kickstarter this month is that I urgently need to renew my PC, and it will chew my "luxuries" allowance.
A lot of good projects being launched right now.  :o :o >:( :'(

Anyone else getting onto Medici?

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1986861668/medici

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/46/medici

I've had my eye on this game for a while and the clincher was the new 2 player rules set being added by Dr. Knizia, himself.

One draw back is limited distribution, (due to licensing). Good news for those of you in the UK, they just announced friendly shipping for that destination today.

My second (and less costly) indulgence of the week is from the great gang from Meeple Source:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/meeplesource/more-game-upgrade-kits-by-meeple-source

Right now I'm in for the Glen More Upgrade Kit. The Barrels and Wheat Sheafs could do double duty in Carc.  :(y)

Wanna play Carc? Can we add just one more expansion?

Seems like a great game but way to difficult to try and convince my wife to play.  :-[ ^-^

Although I don't drink wine and it is quite expensive to get the "everything in pledge" I've to share this one from a Portuguese designer:

Vinhos is quite known and the mechanics are really up to the theme.

It looks too complicated for my liking but I can't argue with the theme of Portuguese wine!!

What's a fire water? ???

Usually a spirit of questionable quality - like Bell's whisky :)
Whatever it is, it's probably in the post from Germany...

Fair enough. I wondered if maybe it was some sort of Portuguese delicacy!

I think I'll stick with the wine, because I don't drink coffee, I rarely drink beer, and fire water sounds scary :)

Thanks for the link, I might go for it. The design is beautiful, especially compared with the older editions. Usually I would never go for cards over tiles, but in this case the tiles were never for tile-building as such, so this isn't a problem here. Plus, the cards are beautiful as well. And many of the stretch goals have already been met. And I can pay in $AUD which is always nice. And I could have it shipped to my brother in the UK. I think I might have just convinced myself to do it!

It's is, I'm on tapa and will explain later.
Nevertheless note that there are fire water going more expensive than a good Porto so quality is a not an issue.
