Post by: stalcupojoy on November 04, 2016, 06:20:10 AM
Hi all. Here are some things I'd be willing to trade (or sell, I suppose) if anyone's interested. You can see my trade interests below. (Updated 14 January 2017).

Willing to Trade:

Wants (old art only):

Thanks!

Can I be amazed you don't own:
Princess & Dragon, Abbey & Mayor and Bridges, Castles & Bazaars too!

Well, Mareike at Cundco was very kind and offered to make a time-consuming exception for me, so Traders & Builders is now in the mail sans box. I will edit my initial post to reflect my updated trade wants and needs.

Yes you can, Dan Decar. ;D I would love to have them all, but I'm not a completionist, and with my limited budget I've tried to obtain the expansions I think my wife and I will enjoy the most. BC&B, A&M, and P&D (in that order) are probably the next three official expansions I would get, and I would love to have any of them, but so far they have been lower on my list for a few reasons.

P&D is last among the three because I've heard the Dragon is not very strong with two players though, plus the Princess mechanic seems a bit harsh and the Fairy seems too fiddly.

As for A&M, neither my wife and I like playing with too many things in our supply (whether meeples like the Big Follower or tiles like the German Castles), and while I think the Wagon and Mayor would be fun (the Barn seems like too much), I would sooner throw in something like the Phantom or Shepherd instead.

BC&B is definitely the next one I would/will buy. I think both the Bridges and Castles look like very fun additions. And I would just house-rule the Bazaars, possibly using the Fortune Teller rules. In the meantime, I'm thinking about making some DIY castle tokens and ordering some Basically Wooden bridges someday, although those are a tad bit expensive with shipping and all.

Yes you can, Dan. :)

It's easy to tell us apart - I'm the handsome and brainy one  O0 O0

I always had the feeling BCB was more a collection of mini expansions rather than the new mechanics seen in earlier expansions.  But the first two are definitley fun!  Good luck tracking them down.  PnD is great in 2-player but dont pay $2500 for a copy on amazon!

Oops! Sorry for the mix-up Decar. And we'll see what Dan has to say about that. ;) I don't really remember what Dan looks like but his meeple is pretty handsome. :P

Don't worry, I'm not paying Amazon/eBay prices. If I wanted it that badly I would have pulled the trigger on Paul's 10 Euro offer here in the Marketplace. :) Do you house rule P&D to make it good for 2-player, or just play it as-is? I've heard the Dragon hardly ever eats anyone, and that the Fairy points are troublesome to keep track of. I am still somewhat interested, especially with the old art version really starting to disappear.

I think the Dragon works brilliantly with two.  Also in means 2 cant gang up against a third player, so it feels strategic. Late in the game it can mean sometimes the dragon wonders around aimlessly but it all depends on when a new volcano or who gets the tile.  The +1 point for not moving the fairy is often tedious to track.  The other thing I really like about PnD is the tiles. They all appear in the base game so it makes tile counting easier (imho).  It's mechanics are definitely a game changer!

Hello, I know this post is quite old, but are you still looking for BC&B and A&M? I have both in the old artwork I’d be willing to trade.
