The Marketplace / WTB: La Porxada
« on: January 27, 2017, 12:42:57 PM »
Does anyone have an extra La Porxada laying around? I'd like to have one, but I don't have good enough quality equipment to make one for myself.

I'm only interested in the old art tile.  That's the main reason I haven't bought one yet.  Is there anyone (preferably in the states) that is only interested in the new art?  We could split it.

I pulled the trigger on a Kallax shelf from IKEA.  I'll post a picture when I finally get it done.

Those ornaments are beautiful.  Thanks for sharing.

Other Games / Re: KICKSTARTER (watch your purses)
« on: December 19, 2016, 12:36:41 PM »
Here is the list of things I backed.  I've purposely avoided lots of things.

Flash Point: Fire Rescue and it's first expansion.  I later sold them in an auction, but have since replaced them and the rest of the set from a great sale on Amazon.
Coin Age
This Town Ain't Big Enough for the 2-4 of Us!
Sphere's of Magic (Pathfinder supplement)

I've also backed a couple sets of designer playing cards, The Dice Tower, and Man Vs. Meeple (mostly for the promos).

My big regret is not backing the game Roll Player.  I saw the Kickstarter and really wanted to do it, but couldn't pull the trigger.  Now I really want it and am sitting on a paid pre-order that likely won't be filled until March 2017.

I don't know what you might have heard about Game Salute, but they are, apparently, notorious for terrible KS campaigns.  I didn't back the Alien Frontiers Big Box, but I did write them to order the upgrade pack (since I already have the game) after the fact.  This KS has been horrible with little to no communication the whole time.  It was supposed to ship in March of 2016 and they are supposedly going to be shipping this week, finally (just in time for Christmas).  Keep in mind that this is not a game they had to produce from scratch, this is for a game they already had everything completed for, they only had to create a master rulebook and a new box and insert.  From what I understand, their problems are not limited to this campaign and they just keep starting new ones before the previous ones, and all their many issues, are solved.  They've lost a tremendous amount of support from the comments I've seen.  I feel sorry for the game designer.

I've heard equally bad things about Queen Games and the polar opposite about Stonemaier  Games.  I understand their campaigns are flawless.

Anything Else / Re: Happy Birthday

Thanks so much for the greeting.  It is appreciated.  I spent the day mostly in bed struggling through a gallbladder attack.  It was a lot of fun...  :o
But hey, I'm not complaining.  Pain lets us know we're alive, right?

My wife pre-ordered the new game Roll Player for me, which I've been very excited to get.  However, the first print run was small enough that many of the distributors oversold it.  Now I have to wait for the second run which is due out in February or March.  It is good to break habit of instant gratification, I suppose, even if by force.

If you enjoy role playing and you have not seen Roll Player, I suggest you check it out.   :(y)

The Marketplace / Re: Brettspiel Adventskalender Promos

Im embarrassed to say my only Uwe Rosenburg game is 'Patchwork', which was pretty good, but with a terrible theme.

'Cottage Garden' seems similar, so it's on the list too!

Sorry to comment so late, but I just noticed this... From what I understand, Cottage Garden is simply a 4-player reimplementation of Patchwork with a different theme.

On a separate note, did anyone buy the new Advent promos and are you selling them?

Love the photos.  Looks like this was a really cool experience.  Kudos to you, again Dan, for putting together that gift.  It makes me feel like I had a part in the day.

Well done.  I'm a different sort of completionist I guess.  I don't need all the stuff that is copied, like three different forms of Cults, etc.  The few things I need at this point are Crop Circles 1, Darmstadt (sp?) and the Russian tiles (are those in the old artwork or new?), and Labyrinths, there is one in each style, right?  I don't have Cathers, but I don't think I need it with Siege.  I don't have any new art and don't plan on getting any.

The Marketplace / Re: BGG Auction
« on: May 15, 2016, 08:34:16 PM »
Yes, there was a time when I was seeking to sell mine off.  That was about 12 expansions ago, give or take.  I actually sold enough other games that it allowed me to hang on to this one.  I didn't get a very good offer anyway.  The best sale was my entire Munchkin collection, which was considerable, and was purchased by our own Scott.

Selling it a piece at a time would be the way to go for maybe a few of the expansions, the rest would be difficult to move, I'd imagine.  Selling all at once to someone who doesn't have any of it seems the way to go, but it would almost surely be at a considerable loss.

Someone is selling their whole Carcassonne collection in a BGG auction.  It ends Friday and includes all the minis.  Bid is at $50 US at time of this post and BIN is at $150.  Link HERE.

I wouldn't be sad if I got Cathers.  I probably would laugh if they sent me one of those other things.  At this point I'll probably try to cancel the order if I can.

I emailed them today about my late order (from 21/3).  Hopefully they can provide me with some tracking info.

That's exactly what it says on their website for my order placed on the same day.  I wonder if my order had the same issue and if I need to contact them, or if solving your problem will lead them to solving mine as well.
