Hi Yi. I can probably do midnight tonight my time if you're available at 7pm your time?

When you lose, do not look at what you lost, but what's left to win ..

I played ny1050220 this evening.

The scores were: 184 - 155 to ny.

In short, my review of the game is that I was completely outplayed.  :(

I will post photos tomorrow...

I got the screenshot. Don't worry, Dan!
I think it probably went this way: I placed a farmer right after Dan placed his barn. Dan blocked the only way between his barn and my farmer, so I could only place my barn somewhere else. My barn ended up bigger for I got quite a few 2-or-3-tile cities.

ny1050220 182 - 167 berchio

what a finale! As you can see in the screenshot ny got the piece that closed that huge inattacable castle as the last piece in the game. What a game changer!

There was a way round but I spent the whole game trying to make it and came up 2 tiles short in the end. If you look in the top-right of your screenshot and imagine if I'd closed my 1-point city with a crfr tile (there was one left but you drew it) and then put a rrxx tile immediately above it the barn farms would have joined. This wouldn't have won me the game though, as I'd focussed so much on trying to achieve this that I didn't do enough to stop any of your countless efforts to join isolated farmers back to your barn farm; something you did amazingly well and generated a lot of points from. Well, I did once but you drew the exact tile you needed immediately afterwards so I punched myself in the face and gave up!  :)

Well done also on your win against berchio. Apparently Abbey & Mayor is a favourite of yours ny!

MrNumbers vs. jma03

I failed to join barn fields and lost the game.

Crikey. Another loss for me.  :(

This one came as a bit of a surprise as I thought I'd played quite well and had a beautiful bit of luck when jma tried to block me from placing my barn and I drew the exact tile I needed to do so immediately afterwards. I felt like I had a good advantage for the rest of the game after this as my barn farm was a lot bigger than jma's (it looked like his was going to be stuck at 4 cities but he did very well to extend it beyond this).

Although I didn't add all of the points up, it looked to me based on what was on the board that I was ahead (albeit only slightly) right up to the end of the game, even after jma won overall control of a 9-point farm that we had been sharing. I thought it would be close, but a draw seemed like the worst case scenario and I was surprised to see I'd lost by 15 points. Sometimes that's just the way it goes though I suppose.

Anyway, jma played consistently well throughout and definitely made the most of the tiles he drew. Congratulations!  :(y)

Not feeling too optimistic about my chances now that I've lost 3 of 4 games. Oh well, there's always the next one...
